A mechanical engineer graduate with specialization in welding, with over 12+ years experience in structural/ process piping fabrication projects and welding inspection in new construction Oil and Gas process plants in Gulf and structural/pipe fabrication projects in India. Position: Senior QC Engineer (Welding)

• Lead and manage a team of Welding Inspectors to support in Quality activities and report every activity (daily task) to QA/QC Manager
• Reviewing and checking of welding procedures for welding Carbon steels, Stainless steels and Alloy steels materials
• Conduct procedure qualification (PQR) test as per welding procedure specification (WPS)
• Organize and conduct welder’s qualification test as per ASME Section IX and client specifications
• Inspection of electrodes, filler wires and gas used for welding
• Control welding consumables and documents
• Visual Inspection of pipe fit up and weld joints and reject/accept as per acceptance criteria of ASME B 31.3
• Visual Inspection of structural members fit up and weld joints as per acceptance criteria of AWS D 1.1
• Monitor preheating prior commencement of welding and interpass temperatures during the welding
• Monitor performance of the welders on the basis of radiographic inspection and promote corrective action where necessary
• Check final dimension, material traceability, orientation and cleanliness after completion of pipe spool fabrication / structural members
• Coordinate for Non Destructive examination of welds(RT/UT/MT/PT), pressure tests in accordance with approved procedures and QC plans
• Coordinate for Post weld heat treatment of welds, monitor the heating rate, soaking time and cooling rate during heat treatment
• Liaise with client, Authorized Inspector and Third party
• Prepare inspection test plans and Preparation of project welder performance/rejection report
• Coordinate technical queries with project management team on daily basis
• Coordinate with client inspection department / third party inspection department for quality issues

• Raw material and equipments Inspection. Incoming construction materials inspection/approval
• Inspection of fit-up, welding, installation, final dimensional, weld visual, hydro test, system leak test and painting
• Preparation/review of WPS and PQR as per specifications, codes & standards
• Preparation of Inspection test plan and procedures for client specification
• Responsible to identify all changes (material, dimensions etc) for as built.
• Liaise with client, Authorized Inspector and Third party
• Preparation of project welder performance report.
• Welding consumable Inspection and monitoring consumable storage
• Witness the Hydro test and Leak test of piping ,vessels ,column
• Arrange and co-ordinate NDT tests including reviewing and interpretation of the radiography films. Liaise with NDT subcontractors, third party surveyors as per quality system and project specific requirements.

Position: Assist Manager (Engineering)

• Lead and manage a team comprising of 100 pipefitters, welders, riggers and other tradesman of a engineering work shop in Naval Dockyard
