CV/Resume Details
1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

Recent position: Geophysicist/Project Manager in Fugro Seismic Imaging AS, Norway

Application for the position Geologist/Seismic Interpreter
Desired job type: seismic interpretation. Reservoir evaluation, basin modeling

I am applying for the position of Geologist/Seismic Interpreter.

I started to study geology at the geological faculty in Kazan State University, Russia in 1981. The studies comprised different subjects in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Geosciences and Economics. I have graduated in 1986 with a Diploma in “Engineer – Geologist for geological mapping, geological survey and exploration of natural resources”.

Since graduation, I have been working in different geological companies in former Soviet Union and later Russia. My responsibilities comprised geological mapping, mineralogical and geochemical studies of the rocks of the prospect areas, field survey and borehole data logging. Later, I worked on exploration and predictive estimation of resources of different types of deposits within Russia and former Soviet republics.

Due to economical crisis in Russia in the earliest 90’s I had to change my occupation. From that time until I had left Russia, I worked as a software programmer and hardware administrator. Later, I worked as a software engineer on computerized systems for accountancy. I was working as a programmer maintaining the system, and as a salesman promoting and selling the system to clients.
During these years, I continued to pursue my geological career and was working as geologist in cooperation with geological faculty in Kazan State University. I participated in different projects in geological studies and reserves estimation of carbonate resources and drinking water resources within Tatarstan. (Tatarstan is a region of Russia, which is situated in the center of European part of the Russian Federation. Kazan is the capital of Tatarstan.)

After I came to Norway In September, 2003, I worked in a small private accountancy company with responsibilities for maintaining the hardware and software used for the company’s business activities.

In 2004 I have applied for MSS Program in Petroleum Geology and Geophysics in the University in Oslo and was accepted. I graduated with the Diploma Master of Geosciences in June, 2006.
My studies in the University in Oslo comprised subjects Depositional environments, Stratigraphy, Reservoir geology, Reservoir geophysics, Integrated basin analysis and prospect evaluation, Seismic Interpretation and Petroleum Geochemistry. Studies were focused on geological interpretation of seismic data, formation evaluation, estimation of reservoir resources, assessing logs data, basin modeling and seismic processing. A lot of geological and geophysical data for the North Sea were assessed for the studies.
My Master’s Thesis was based on published data for continental margin within the Angolan coast, with analysis of geology and integrated geophysical data and with the objective of studying the tectonical structure of the conjugate margin, localize the Oceanic-Continental Boundary and Moho and make prognoses on the oil resources in deep parts of geological sections within the area of studies. The work included studies of continental margin on the Brazilian coast and comparison of two conjugate counterparts as a result of plate tectonics.

In 2006, I have applied for the position Geophysicist in FSI. I work in FSI since September 2006. My responsibilities cover seismic processing in-house and offshore.
I have been on several offshore trips. On last two I was responsible for the Project onboard.

Working in a wide range of different disciplines, such as geological interpretation, formation evaluation, analysis of log data and analysis of integrated geophysical data, as well as risk analyses fit better my education that I have acquired so far. I have a great interest in these disciplines and would like to continue my career in that direction. Recent experience in seismic processing is an additional and valuable asset for such work as Geologist/Seismic Interpreter.
I have very good skill in English and good skills in Norwegian language. I am a native speaker of the Russian language. Tatar is my mother tongue.
Through my career I have been working as the only responsible person, as a part of a team, and as a team leader. I have interacted directly with clients with sale of the products.
Finally, I am a very healthy person; I have an active life style. I like physical activities as training, cycling, skiing, and jogging.
I urge you to give my application your earnest consideration.
