Basically a B.E Mechanical Engineer with a PG in Marine Engineering Tech with over 11 Years experience. Of which 9 years were as a MARINE ENGINEER in various ascending positions on board Merchant shipping vessels and offshore supply vessels. 7 years were with vessels managed by BARBER SHIP MANAGEMENT, Kuala Lumpur, after which there was a short stint as second engineer with TIDEWATER OFFSHORE and then as additional second engineer with GREAT EASTERN SHIPPING, OFFSHORE DIVISION, Mumbai on their platform support vessels plying in the North Sea area & now presently 2 years of on-shore experience as a Project head/ Client manager (Velankani Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, Bangalore) for Mechanical & Electrical services for a turnkey Rs 200cr In-House 5 star hotel project and business centers for their clients Deutsche Bank & now as a PMC for Uni-Controls ( BAMS)

• Operation & Maintenance of the complete Power Plant & Related Auxiliaries & Electrical Equipments.
• Types of engines worked on:
MAN – B&W, MITSUI B&W, DIESEL UNITED – SULZER'
DAIHATSU, IHI – SEMT- PIELSTICK, YANMAR, KAWASAKI – MAN, KUBOTA, BERGEN DIESEL-ROLLS ROYCE
These include both 2-stroke & 4-stroke heavy oil & diesel oil operated turbocharged engines with power ratings ranging from 200 kW to 14000 kW
• Operation and Maintenance of oil fired and exhaust gas Boilers. Testing and treatment of boiler water. Maintenance of the water and steam system, including pumps and valves.
Types of boilers worked on:
TPK K/KD composite boiler (WP: 7 bar)
MIURA – Z vertical water tube boiler (WP: 7 bar)
SAACKE Vertical Smoke tube boiler (WP: 7 bar)
COCHRAN composite smoke tube type (WP: 7bar)
KAWASAKI (KHI) water tube boiler (WP: 7 bar)
Complete overhaul and maintenance of heavy oil, diesel oil & lubricating oil purifiers
Types of purifiers worked on:
MITSUBISHI self ejectors (partial discharge)
ALFA – LAVAL purifiers (continuous discharge)
• Overhauling and Maintenance of centrifugal & positive displacement pumps of varying capacities.
• Regular maintenance of motors, panels, switch gears etc
• Maintenance of oily water separators in accordance with ISM code and international rules & regulations regarding prevention of pollution.
AIRCONDITIONING & REFRIGERATION PLANTS:
• Maintenance and Operation of Air Conditioners, Reefer Plants. Worked on reciprocating & rotary compressors involving operation & complete overhauling of system, like periodic maintenance of all moving components, routine maintenance of evaporators (dry expansion type), condensers (sea water cooled as applicable to marine systems), replacing of defective thermostatic expansion valves, maintenance of system driers (silica gel) periodic replacement of system oil & gas. Cleaning of filters etc. routine inspection of all safety equipment connected to the system like high, low pressure cut outs, low oil pressure cut out, low temperature cut out, flow switches etc
• Complete maintenance of Air Compressors involving complete overhauling of pistons, bearings, valves, unloader valves, lubricating oil pumps, cooling water pumps, filters etc.

Successfully handled more than six major dry-docking for the vessels managed by the company at various dry-docks across Japan, USA & Singapore, involving planning, coordinating & leading teams for major overhauling of the above mentioned machinery.
Sent on various occasions as part of the team for takeover of merchant vessels from shipyards in Japan & also from other companies.
One such Take –Over had just 3 of us, The Captain, Chief Engr & I (third Engr). This involved the complete study of all the machinery, preparing detailed repair specifications of all the machinery on board & also all the dry docking details within a span of two weeks. Dry-docking of the vessel at Innoshima, Japan with a brand new set of crew & fellow officers, setting up of all the documentation & a successful completion of both an internal & external audit followed this.
I have handled trying situations at sea without losing sight of the objective. I have an inherent ability to work under stress while maintaining stringent safety standards. I have a penchant for challenging situations & have successfully handled & interacted with people of different nationalities in the course of the job.
Now, on-shore, I have successfully built & lead a team of engineers in setting up the services for a 5 star Hotel (in-house project) & also state-of –the- art Business Centers for our client, Deutsche Bank both here in Bangalore & Mumbai.
