1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]
I’m an Industrial Electrical Fitter Mechanic by trade. I completed my apprenticeship in 1988. In 1992 I began work as a Operator Maintainer for ICI Explosives in Australia. I then spent 14 years covering all areas of production in the world’s largest Ammonium Nitrate Bulk Explosive and Nitric Acid plants. This facility had such equipments as Steam Turbines, Heat Exchangers, Boilers, Cooling Water Treatment, Compressor Systems in various duties, High Voltage Electrical Drives, Refrigeration Systems, Positive Displacement Pumps, Variable Speed Drives, Cryogenic materials handling, liquid waste disposal, Laboratory sampling/analysis and DCS control of the entire site. Since this time I have been employed as a engineering consultant/trouble-shooter working on LNG plants in Karratha [Western Australia] and in Pakistan for BHP Petroleum Division. I'm currently employed as the commissioning engineer modifying remote LNG power stations. These mods are being installed to increase power station uptime and reliability.
2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]
Industrial Electrical Apprenticeship with Queensland Alumina Limited from 1985 - 1988. Joined Queensland Police Force and worked as a Police officer for 2years. Went back to Queensland Alumina Limited as maintenance Electrical Fitter Mechanic for 18months. Joined ICI / Orica Explosives and spent 14years working as a Operator Maintainer on the Yarwun site. This work covered initial construction, commissioning and operation of this plant. This facility went through many expansions to where it is now the largest Ammonium Nitrate plant in the World. I was then employed in Karratha Western Australia commissioning a LNG facility and then in Pakistan commissioning the latest expansion [Phase 2] of Zamzama LNG Plant. Currently employed as a Commissioning Engineer on the modification of 4 x LNG fired Power Stations in remote locations of far north Western Australia.
3. Education & Training - CV/Resume Part 3 [Mandatory]
Completed 3 subjects of a I.T. Degree with Central Queensland University. I hold Queensland / Australia wide licenses for Cranes, Forklifts, Basic Boiler Operation, Intermediate Boiler Operation, Steam Turbine Operation, Power Generation Operation, Car and Truck Licenses, Advanced First Aid holder, Emergency Fire Response Training and Electrical License.
4. Computer Skills - CV/Resume Part 4 [Mandatory]
Advanced computer skills. I was part time employed as a IT consultant by a Melbourne IT company. This role covered any roles such as basic introductory to computers to adding machines to existing networks, troubleshooting system faults to using computer software packages. I am proficient in all desktop publishing packages whether they be WordPerfect, Lotus, Microsoft or free packages such as OpenOffice. The only software I cannot use are CAD or book-keeping software. I've never had the need for these packages. I also touch type at over 35wpm due to my police force training.
5. Other Skills - CV/Resume Part 5 [Optional]
I see myself as a trouble-shooter, can do person. The more difficult the work environment [adverse weather or limited resources] the more I enjoy the challenge. Whilst in Pakistan the day time temperature reached 54.6*c, this was a great personal challenge. I also look for roles which require outside the box solutions to process or practical problems.
6. Additional Information - CV/Resume Part 6 [Optional]
If you’re looking for a reliable, straight shooter who won't let you or your client down, I'm your man. I take great pride in my professionalism and reliable approach to my job. This sounds a bit trite, but I take my job seriously and I love working in either team environments or as a self starter.
