1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]
At present I am in the North Sea on oil/gas platform but I am looking for a change of employment and would like to apply for the position of Instrument Technician.
Most of my working life has been abroad and offshore,including FSO experience, but I have got onshore experience as well. I have been in supervisory positions which has involved my talking to management on a day to day basis and attending daily progress and work meetings. Within these positions I have been involved with and enjoyed working in a multicultural environment and I am used to extreme environments. I must admit I prefer the hands on roll of Instrumentation and class myself as a good mixer with people and a fully committed team person.
I am conversant with preventive,corrective and breakdown maintenance and compliant with P&ID, loop and logic drawings and the use of CMMS systems Maximo and Avantis. I have a good knowledge of DCS, PLC, F&G and ESD systems. Involvement in engineering of new equipment ,installation and commissioning of same and hand over of relevant signed paperwork to client or engineering department.
At present I am using a PC based permit to work system, ISSOW.
2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]
I started my apprenticeship with British Steel Corporation in 1965,spent approximately ten years with them which involved rotating on all parts of the site but i ended being in charge of power generation in an oil/gas fired power staion.
I then moved on to offshore where i have spent most of my working life with employment in UK and abroad. My work has included pre commissioning,commissioning and maintenance being involved with vendors,clients and having to sign all relevant paperwork related to that particular situation.
Working abroad has meant my mixing within multicultural workforces and this i have enjoyed on all occasions.
I have been in supervisory positions and basic engineering positions which included initial engineering,installation and commissioning following up with as built drawings.
Now i am in the North Sea UK sector as a maintenance technician which involves preventive,corrective and breakdown maintenance and also installation of new equipment.
3. Education & Training - CV/Resume Part 3 [Mandatory]
I attended Hartlepool Technical High school and gained certificates in English language,Physics/Chemistry,Maths and Workshop.
4. Computer Skills - CV/Resume Part 4 [Mandatory]
Literate with Microsoft Word,Windows. At present i am using PC based permit to work system ISSOW with CMMS system Maximo. I have also used a system called AVANTIS.
In my present position i procure any required equipment mainly via Internet, sourcing manufacturer, selling agents etc then ordering via main office.
