1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

I am a marine deck officer with seventeen years experience in the marine offshore and merchant marine field.
Since my start in the maritime profession I had worked in different vessel’s types like bulk carrier vessels (liquid and dry), containers vessels, supplies vessels, dive support vessel, pipe laying and ROV vessel and semi submersible drill rig. Actually I am working like senior DPO in a semi submersible drill rig in Brazilian waters for a very important company with great experience in sub sea operations. During my professional life always I had offered the best of my own personal and professional skills and the best collaboration and respect to my superiors and also for the people under my orders.
Additionally to my professional skills, I also can manage some software than can be useful for the company and my daily work.

2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

I began my professional experience in the Colombian Navy working in a destroyer escort vessel type where I was in charge of main weapon division and deck division, my duties and responsibilities were everything concerning weapons and deck planning, executing and control maintenance jobs regarding electrical and mechanical matters, also for safety equipments and life saving appliances. Also I was in command of small Navy vessel. That was since December 1986 till June 1990 when I decided goes out from Navy. I was in the Colombian navy since January 1983 until June 1990.

After I had homologized my title like Marine merchant officer, I work in bulk carrier vessels, chemical tanker, multi-purpose, large tuna vessel and container ship working in the degree of 3rd mate, 1st mate and inclusive Captain in small vessels. These employments were during 1991 until December 1993, when I decided to finish my Electronic naval Engineering career in the Colombian Naval Academy.
After I got my degree in Electronic Naval Engineering, I work for the Colombian Maritime Directorate in the Navigation Aids Department more specifically in Barranquilla port, where I occupied the technical division management duty; also I was designed to be in charge for the buoy handling vessel’s building project manager. From August 1995 until December 1996. Also I was the buoy handling vessel’s captain.

While I was working in the buoy handling vessel project I got an offer to start working like production manager and after in the Merchant Marine company “Lineas Agromar”. Unfortunately the depression in the merchant marine and naval field in Colombia start and my staying in these companies were not so satisfactory for my personal experience. That was from 1996 until 1998. During 1998, 1999 and 2000, I was working as independent marine surveyor in naval repairing.
On March 2000, I had the opportunity to find out other experience, this time in the marine offshore field, in Brazilian waters. I start to work with TideWater company as supply boat’s chief mate and utility boat captain until June 2002 when I change the company after I completed the Dynamic positioning curse by my own and start to work for the Stolt Offshore company, today the Acergy-Group, on board the Dive Support and ROV Vessel “Acergy Harrier”, also I was training in the other company vessel in Brazil, the “Acergy Condor” a pipe laying and ROV vessel. In Acergy group I work till May 2007 date which I changed to the Pride International

Today, I am working on Rig Pride “Carlos Walter” a semi-submersible rig where my rank is a 2nd mate and contract as DPO Senior. The vessel DP system is a Kongsberg 21 class 3

3. Education & Training - CV/Resume Part 3 [Mandatory]

I start my education in the San Jose School S.J. (Jesuit Company) in Barranquilla where I got my title in high school on December 1982, immediately, on January 1983, I start my professional studies in the Colombian Naval Academy (Escuela Naval Almirante Padilla), located in Cartagena, Colombia, where I complete all my studies concerning the Marine career. On December 1986 I graduate as Naval Officer with specialization in navigation, weapons and deck. After four years experience on the naval field, I decided my retirement from Navy and I start to homologize as Merchant Marine Officer (deck), which was on March 1991.
On January 1994 I returned to the Naval Academy to complete my studies about Electronic Naval Engineering and on July 1995 I had graduated in this profession.

Finally, on August 1996 till December 1997 I had followed post graduate studies in the North University (Universidad del Norte) in Barranquilla, Colombia where I got the Engineering Projects Manager specialist title.
During my holydays time, while I was working in Brazil, I went to Houston, Texas to realize the Dynamic Positioning Operator curses, basic and advanced.
