Jul 2007 – Present: RPS Water – Water Technician
I am responsible for maintaining a fully functioning water supply in my assigned district. This requires me to perform field work as well as maintaining the office based computer records. The field work involves leak detection pressure monitoring, equipment installation, flow metering and many other types of diagnostic work. The job is varied, requiring me to solve problems on a daily basis and travel over a wide area.
Feb 2006 – Jul 2007: Assistant Groundsman Aberdeenshire Cricket Club
The Assistant Groundsman was responsible for servicing machinery used to maintain the cricket ground. This varied from lawn mowers and tractors to the electronic score board. I was responsible for the safe handling, use and storage of the various chemicals used on the ground. The work also entailed general labouring such as digging drainage trenches, grass cutting, painting, minor metal work and landscaping.
Mar – Sept 2005: Esselmont Marquees
I worked as a labourer erecting marquees. This involved driving to the sites, setting up the marquee and ensuring the measurements were correct. It required working flexible hours on many different sites and travelling all over Scotland.
