Job Profile :

• Inspecting & Auditing of shop applied and Field weld joints coating ( Liquid airless spray painting ) of Petrochemical plant pipe lines, Spools, Supports and Structurals as per Qatar Petroleum Project Specification and Inspection Standards ( Such as NACE, ASTM, ASME etc. )

• Monitoring of weather conditions such as Humidity, Dew point temperature, Surface Temperature etc.

• Witnessing of QC Tests such as:

o Surface contamination test,
o Anchor Profile by Testex tape,
o Dust level measurement on blasted surface,
o Coating Thickness ( DFT ) measurement,
o Adhesion Test ( X-cut ),
o Blotter test for compressed air quality,

• Inspecting the Fusion bonded epoxy coating on field girth weld joints for cross country pipe line.

• Inspecting the Glass Flake Epoxy coating for Induction bends for cross country pipe line.

• Inspecting the 100% epoxy coating on Cathodic Protection Pin brazing locations on cross country pipe line.

• Witnessing of Pre-inspection of Fusion bonded epoxy pipe lines for coating damage and repair work with repair compound.

• Assessing the condition of Previous coatings and Rust level on Storage tanks for repair coatings and suggest Preparation & Painting systems.

 Correct Paint to Converter ratio
 Durability testing of Painted film like weathering etc.

• Developing Process Standards for each Paint plants along with Suppliers by keeping the Product requirements in mind

• Developing Product Standards for each parts along with research and Development department by keeping the field application of the product in mind.

• Conducting Daily and weekly audit of Painting process and Products in view with QMS requirements such as Standard adherence level ( Technical Data Sheet , Control Plan & MSDS etc. ) , Documentation , Change management , New product development etc.

 Preparing Operation Standards and Inspection check lists for all the Paint plants.

 Daily process audit right from pre-treatment , Painting and Baking process as a part of QMS activities.

 Daily Product audit for Quality compliances as per ASTM and JIS Standards.

 Successfully improved productivity by 75% ( 300 MCE ) in Plastic parts Painting plant by introducing SET PAINTING – JIT concept.

 Achieved zero internal customer complaint of Victor model Painted parts within the period of 5 months with Operator codification for traceability & and Daily management ( PDCA ).

 Through ‘Alternate Sourcing’ achieved Consumable cost saving of Rs 1.2 Crores per annum .

Quality Inspector, ( Quality Shift In charge ) 1999-2001

As a Quality inspector taken care of Painted parts inspection of Metal parts both Ferrous and Non ferrous components.

 Daily checking of Painted parts DFT with Tooke gauge , Magnetic pull off gauge , Electromagnetic Gauge and able to calibrate the gauges.

 Daily checking of Paint Adhesion test with Cross hatch cutter & X cut technique.

 Daily checking of Hot water blistering of Painted parts to identify the Pre-treatment process failure.

 Checking of all Quality parameters inline with ASTM and JIS ( Japanese Inspection Standard )

 Recording of all Reading of checking parameters.

 Raising , Issuing and coordinating for correction of NCR’s then and there.

 Reduced Painting Defects from 7 % to 0.5 % by providing Spray Painting training to the operators and various improvements in Painting process as well as Paint plant.
