A motivated self starter and for the past 25 years I worked in the onshore hotel and catering industry I the decided that I needed a new direction and challenge in my life. I have now found this in the oil and gas industry working offshore on the Elgin Franklin platform for Wood Group Engineering since April 2007 and now on the Dunbar on the CSU (Cross Site Upgrade) project. I have been trained as a Storeman and Duties include being responsible for the platform stores and rigging loft, with experience in consumable spares, plant tools, electrical equipment, pipe spools, valves, rigging and slinging equipment and a T-card issuing system. responsible for ordering, manifesting, requisitioning all stores and consumable items. I organise the inter-field transfer of equipment and along with the Logistic Controller and Deck Crew, I assist in organising supply vessels and containers, checking inbound and outbound manifests utilising the Wood Group portal system. Assisting with rigging operations on the rig and also general deck duties. I am very much a team player and integrate closely with the Engineering, Rigging, Pipe Fitters, Platers, Electricians, Deck Crew, Operations Team and Safety departments.
