Project : Gumusut Kakap Topsides Detailed Design

The Gumusut-Kakap Floating Production System – FPS comprised of a semi-submersible hull with four columns and interconnecting pontoon and the production facilities on the topside deck. The topside consists of 4 main modules with the total of weight budget for Operational Condition is approximately 24420MT.

• Modules In-place analysis including 3D modelling using SACS software, weight computation of topside appurtenances and miscellaneous loads; application of equipment loading and environmental loads into the SACS model and generation of loads in horizontal direction;
• Modules transportation analysis including generation of vertical and horizontal loads and application of environmental loads using SACS software;
• Pre-service analysis of modules including loadout analysis and superlift analysis on the carrier beam including application of environmental loads using SACS software; and
• Miscellaneous design including lifting padeyes design, bolt connection checking (including fatigue checking), stair towers in-place and transportation analysis, hatch cover design and deck plate checking based on design basis and comply with API RP2A-WSD 21st Edition, Dec 2000.

Project : Turkmenistan Block 1 Gas Development Project 03-Magtymguly Drilling
Platform A (MDP-A) Substructure

A joint venture with Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering (MMHE) to perform detailed design of the platform. MDP-A is a minimum type platform. The jacket is a 4-legged fixed templates structure with 4 skirt piles. The topside consists of two primary levels (upper & lower deck). The platform will be installed by a jack-up drilling rig.

• Involved in Fabrication Engineering including lifting analysis; padeye and trunnion miscellaneous design.

Project : Turkmenistan Block 1 Gas Development Project 01-Magtymguly Collector Riser
Platforn (MCR-A) GBS

A joint venture with Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering (MMHE) to perform detailed design of the topside as a part of the Turkmenistan Block 1 Gas Development Project. Substructure of MCR-A is a gravity base structure (GBS) while the topside is an integrated deck to be installed by float-over method.

• Involved in standoff pipe and clamps design for the 26”, 18”, 12” and 4” riser.

RNZ Integrated (Secondment From Sime Engineering), March 2007 - Sept 2007

Project : EPCIC of Maersk Oil Qatar FDP 2005 – Facilities Package 16 BE Process & BG
Utilities Platforms and Bridges

The Maersk Oil Qatar AS – Block 5 Field Development Project 2005 is located at the existing Al Shaheen facilities for Block 5. The Block 5 Field Development Project 2005 comprises of 15 platforms, 1 module, 13 bridges and 2 new SPM buoys for crude export.
RNZ was the appointed engineering design contractor to complete detailed design of the two platforms for fabrication at the Sime Shipyard at Johore.
A loadout/ transportation weight of the BG topside is approximately 10000MT and the float over method is to be executed.

• Involved in topside preliminary design, based at Mustang Engineering in Perth for 3 weeks time;
• Involved in topside detailed design, based at rnz Integrated;
• BG Topside In-place analysis including 3D modelling using SACS software, weight computation of topside appurtenances and miscellaneous loads; application of equipment loading and environmental loads into the SACS model;
• BG Topside transportation analysis including generation of tow loads and application of environmental loads using SACS software; and
• Joint/ stiffeners design and topside miscellaneous design.


SIME ENGINEERING, Jan 2006 – March 2007

Client : PETRONAS CARIGALI (PCSB)
Project : Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) of
South Sumandak (SUPG-B) and Sumandak Tepi (SUJT-C) Development
Project (Phase 2)

Petronas Carigali (PCSB) is undertaking the development of Sumandak field located at offshore Sabah. The field is located at Sabah, Malaysia in an average water depth of 52.3m.
Selatan South Processing Platform (SUPG-B) is a 6 legged drilling and processing platform. The platform topside consists of five (5) modules and was supported by a Module Support Frame (MSF). The SUPG-B substructure is a 6-legged launch steel template structure with piles driven through the legs in a water depth of 42.8m

• Substructure dynamic analysis including generation of Eigenvalue (natural period) of the substructure, Transfer Function & Response Function of the substructure due to wave and current and generation of Dynamic Amplication Factor using SACS software;
• Substructure spectral dynamic fatigue analysis including determination of the usage of weld profile using SACS software;
• Piles and conductors driveability analysis including determination of piles/ conductors stick up, pile/ conductors make up and type of hammers (steam or hydraulic) to be used using GRL Weap software; and
• Miscellaneous design including lifting padeyes design and boat landing lifting analysis based on design basis and comply with API RP2A-WSD 21st Edition, Dec 2000.

Project : Facilities Package 16 BE Process & BG Utilities Platforms (Bidding)

Qatar Petroleum to install 3 new wellhead topsides and jackets in the Bul Hanine fields, and associated pipeline and umbilical. Each platform consists of a 4-piled template type jacket with nine (9) well conductor guides, nine (9) 30” diameter conductors and integrated topside to accommodate drilling & riser facilities and a helideck. The platforms are configured for drilling by jack-up rig in cantilever mode from one side.

• Pre-service analysis of substructures and topside including loadout analysis and lifting analysis (including miscellaneous design) based on design basis and complies with API RP2A-WSD 21st Edition, Dec 2000; and
• Under water (sub-sea) valve protection skid in-place analysis, cathodic protection system design and valve skid stability analysis.

Project : Detailed Engineering Services For Puteri Development

Petronas Carigali (PCSB) is undertaking the development of Puteri wellhead platform which is located at offshore Kerteh, east coast of Peninsular Malaysia in a water depth of approximately 60 meters.
Puteri platform is a conventional unmanned 4-legged drilling and processing fixed platform. The platform is designed for drilling using a standard 300 feet water depth Class jack-up rig in cantilever mode. The topside is equipped with minimum facilities with remote monitoring/control at the FSO.
The substructure is a 4-pile template type jacket.
• Pre-service analysis of substructure – Lifting analysis (including miscellaneous design);
