CV/Resume Details
1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]
Dear sir/madam
I am a newly qualified roustabout and am now looking for employment in the oil trade. I am therefore writing to enquire as to whether you have any vacancies as I am available to start immediately. I have all of the relevant qualifications and certificates including my offshore medical certificate which I completed in the past few weeks.
As you can see from my enclosed curriculum vitae I have had many years experience working in the shipping and marine industry. This includes banking dockside cranes and ship cranes, loading and unloading of cargo, also lashing and securing cargo and driving fork trucks.
Due to the fact that I have all of these experiences and skills behind me, I would like to think that this would make me a strong candidate for a roustabout position within your company.
I appreciate the time you have taken to read my CV and letter, and would be grateful if you could get back to me regarding my application.
2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]
Marine Shipping Services Newport Gwent
Stevadore /Banksman Slinger/ Cargo Lashing 2005 to 2006
My main roles and duties whilst working for this company included loading and discharging of various cargo, slinging and banking the crane on and off of the ship, securing cargo for trans-shipment as well as being a trainee crane operative and forklift driver. Being in this kind of industry has risen my awareness of health and safety requirements when working with heavy industrial machinery. This job also meant that I had to work in a very close team environment with high levels of communication, which I feel competent in doing, so that everybody knew what was happening at all times. Another important part of this team was to give orders as well as carry out orders given to me to the best of my ability.
