• Experienced Paramedic with remote/rural experience. Advanced skills such as X-Ray, Suture, Plaster Casting, ACLS, ITLS, ET Tube and Combitube placement, Chest Decompression, External Pacing, Cardioversion, 3-lead and 12-lead ECG placement and interpretation and medicine control and dispensing/administration.
• Experienced in wide range of medical and traumatic emergencies.
• Responsible for QC/QA procedures on medical forms as well and inventory control.
• Familiar with detailed Inspection Processes. Performed regular inspection, maintenance and cleaning of medical and non-medical equipment.
• Knowledge of industrial hazards such as noise, vibration and temperature. Short term and long term exposure limits and testing procedures.
• Knowledgeable of Health and Wellness initiatives that increase productivity and reduce incident probabilities such as personal training, formulating exercise routines, back injury prevention and stretching routines, therapeutic massage techniques, as well as detection and intervention of mental health issues.

• Recently completed NLCSA Certified Safety Officer Program. Extensive knowledge of such topics as OHS, PPE, Loss Control, Internal Audit Procedures, Harassment Reduction and Conflict; Resolution, Regulation and Legislative interpretation, Worksite Inspections, JSA, LO/TO Procedues, Fall Prevention/Protection, Electrical Safety as well as Safety Talks and Orientation.
• Experience and knowledge in Emergency Management/ Emergency Site Management. This includes table top exercises and practical real world simulations and drills. Evaluation and implementation of recommended corrections in Emergency Plans.
• Practical experience in formulation and implementation of Emergency Plans including identification, mitigation, containment, inventory assessment, and response procedures as well as post emergency auditing and assessment.
• Firefighter with 5 years experience accompanied with several Firefighting and related certificates. Knowledge of fire behaviour and firefighting equipment and maintience and testing of that equipment and procedures. Experience in SCBA donning and training for extended periods of time in confined space as well as Search and Rescue and decontamination techniques.
• Knowledge and experience working under the WHMIS system and interpretation of MSDS datasheets in an industrial setting.
• Certified Confined Space Entry Ticket and experience in several job settings with entry and egress of confined spaces.
• Transportation of Dangerous Goods Ticket. Experience with the U.S DOT/CANUTEC Emergency Response Guide.
• Trained in EnCana H2S Alive (P.I.T.S) program and H2S and other airborne containment testing procedures as well as equipment testing and maintenance.
• Trained in HAZWOPER Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response techniques under U.S. DOT standards.

• Attained 2 year Technical Diploma in Natural Resource Management/Environmental Technology.
• Knowledge of Environmental Assessments and their application to governing bodies. Practical experience in assisting in preparation of an Environmental Assessment.
• Practical work experience in Marine ecology and ecosystem management as well as species identification.
• Experience in food and water safety, testing methods and sample collection.
• Knowledge of oil spill prevention and clean up, pollution control, and toxic release control methods. Experience dealing with oil spill clean up/quick response equipment and deployment as well as maintenance of that equipment.
• Awareness of the need for good industrial, worksite, and personal hygiene and its link to a safe and productive workplace and workforce. Fundamental knowledge of industrial hygiene and its application to real world settings.

• Gained practical offshore marine experience on several types of vessels as a Deck Hand/Crewmember. Duties included deck work, rigging, cleaning and maintenance of equipment, safety drills and procedures. Experienced on marine equipment such as Navigation equipment, Radar, Plotter, Automatic Pilot, VHF Radio operation, deep water hauling equipment, etc.
• Completed BST (Basic Survival Training) course at Marine Institute. CNOPB/CNSOPB/CAPP recognized course included Cold Water Survival, Life Boat launching, Personal Emergency Descender System, Emergency Rig Evacuation, Signalling Devices and Rescue Recovery as well as Exposure Suit training.
• Completed HUET (Helicopter Underwater Escape Training) at Marine Institute. Including full submersion in helicopter simulator.
• Valid Transport Canada Restricted Radio Operators certification. (Maritime and Land)
• Completed Transport Canada Marine Emergency Duties (MED-A1) course. Topics included cold water immersion, life saving, signalling, exposure training.
• Certified and experienced in Rigging and Slinging various loads under dynamic ocean conditions. Experience in extreme weather and sea state environments.
• Certified and experienced in Marine Search and Rescue. Ability to develop search patterns and help in the execution of search and rescue missions including the use of small craft. Extensive experience in the use of small craft.
