I am a first class Chemical Engineering graduate from University of Kerala, India presently working as Senior Engineer at Kochi Refinery Division of M/s Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited(BPCL). This division is an ISO 9001-2000, ISO 14001 and ISRS Level 8 certified 1,50,000 BPSD Refinery and Petrochemical complex.

The vast and indepth process monitoring, operational and commissioning experience in major process units like Crude/Vacuum Distillation/Sour water treatment, Asphalt(Bitumen), Fluidised Bed Catalaytic Cracking Unit(FCCU), Gas Concentration Unit with wet gas compressors, LPG treatment like Amine/Caustic/Merox and Gasolene treatment and Poly Isobutene Unit find relevant for the post applied in your esteemed organization. M/s BPCL is a Fortune 500 crude oil refining company located in India and I am associated with BPCL since October 1998. The Kochi Refinery of BPCL is an ISO 9001-2000, ISO 14001 and ISRS Level 8 certified 1,50,000 BPSD Crude Oil Refinery and Petrochemical complex.

10 years broad experience in a 35,000 BPSD Refinery FCCU(Fluid Bed catalytic Cracker) AND GAS PROCESSING Complex at a Senior Supervisory level. As a Senior Engineer in the FCCU, I report to the Chief Manager(FCCU) and undertake the technical services requirement in FCCU and my specific accountabilities include:

1. Directs and controls the day to day technical services and process support requirement for operation of the UOP/Stone and Webster designed Fluid Catalytic cracking unit (FCC) and Product Treatment Units.
Monitors the unit operations with respect to overall company targets and advice the operating personnel for optimizing the plant operations. Preparation of daily, monthly reports highlighting the plant performance.
2. Analyzes the deviations from the quality of the products with specifications and makes necessary changes and advice operations team for the trouble-shooting.
Ensures adherence to refinery policies and procedures and safety guidelines. Co-ordinates unit maintenance and turn-around activities. Prepares daily, monthly and annual reports for feedback to the management. Ensures safe, continuous and efficient plant operation with on–spec products to meet local market demand and to meet export schedule.
3. Identification of technical problems & troubleshooting and identifies problem areas and proposes solutions for trouble free operation of the process units.
4. Prepares daily plant performance and summaries to monitor plant performance and highlights abnormalities/problem areas and recommend optimal and cost effective solutions. Includes studying laboratory test reports, standard log sheets and other daily operating activity reports and compiling information. Proposes optimal solutions for the process problem.
5. Simulation studies of FCC and associated units using HYSYS.
6. Collects monthly plant production and operating data, evaluates unit efficiency by relating chemical and energy consumption to plant throughput. Identifies possible trends, prepares reports with comments and submits to Supervisor for review.
7. Monitors equipment and systems performances, identifies potential problems and submits recommendations for appropriate actions such as revising operating modes or conditions, recommending chemical dosing and specifications, rescheduling of required shutdowns, proposing modifications to exiting systems and following up to ensure proper execution.
8. Suggestions for improvement in operations, development of schemes for modifications and their follow up for implementation.
9. Carry out periodic plant test run successfully to check heat and material balance, catalyst remnant life and equipment efficiency.
10. Execute commissioning start-up and performance / acceptance test procedures to test for compliance with design specifications.
11. Worked as a team member for the Commissioning and startup of Crude/Vacuum distillation Unit, Fluidised Bed Catalytic Cracking Unit(FCCU), Sour water stripper units, Gas concentration Unit(FCC gas plant handling wet gas compressors), LPG/Gasolene treatment like Amine/Caustic/Merox, Light ends feed preparation unit(Separation of isobutenes from cracked LPG and separation of butanes from straight run LPG as feedstock for petrochemical unit viz. Poly olefin plant(Polyisobutene).
12. Administer and perform process related activities during plant turnaround to make sure that all process equipment and piping are thoroughly flushed, cleaned and dried, reactors / column are loaded with the correct type and quantities of catalyst / internal and that the correct loading / installation methods are being forward.
13. Apply Environmental and Safety Awareness by always using proper personal protective equipment, working safely and making sure that the workplace is safe.
14. Knowledge of Safe work permits system, Safe operating procedures, Safe equipment handing over procedure etc.
15. Experienced in the application of SAP R/3 modules like plant maintenance management, manpower management, project management, material management etc in the daily operations.
