I have 20 years of experience in the oil spill response field starting with the Exxon Valdez spill to supervisor on the Komi Republic spill in Russia to present. I have also been first responder on numerous hazardous materials spills throughout the United States. I have worked as a Supervisor on numerous soil remediation and hazardous materials disposal sites throughout the States. I have had significant training with the certifications to support that. I also am an experienced Crane and Heavy Equipment operator with certifications in Crane training and inspecting. I bring years of experience, knowledge, skills and education to the table which will be of benefit to any organization that chooses to utilize them. 12/2003 – 07/2008 CISPRI Nikiski, AK
OIL SPILL TECHNICIAN
Functional responsibilities include performing planning, execution and training of oil spill response strategies and operational deployment, and equipment maintenance in Cook Inlet, Alaska. Conduct and/or direct the deployment, operation, and recovery of each of CISPRI’s oil spill response systems and support equipment as necessary to effectively control, contain and clean-up oil spills in a timely, safe and efficient manner. Supervise assigned response personnel in spill operations activities. Complete appropriate documentation (i.e. unit logs, personnel tome and equipment records. Safely operate all CISPRI spill response and support equipment, vessels, vehicles and heavy equipment. Primary crane operator responsible for ensuring all staff is properly trained in operation and maintenance of cranes and other heavy equipment. Certified Crane inspector required to ensure cranes are compliant, safe and up to OSHA standards. Function as Nearshore Supervisor, Task Force Leader and Strike Team. Develop spill response strategies for open water, nearshore, onshore or sensitive area scenarios for planning purposes. Transfer and off loading of oil spill waste. Crew training and barge master for all barge operations. Crane training and certifying of all employees on rigging and safe crane operations. Worked on platform supply vessels performing response exercises. Extensive knowledge of all vessel (platform supply boats, barges, tugboats) operations and maintenance.
