• Develop, implement, update, and review appropriate metrics.

Evaluate, select and develop suppliers of products/processes to the Corporate group worldwide for value creation -- working closely with them from the product development/launch phase through the implementation, validation, and audit -- APQP product life cycle. Work with suppliers to optimize their product/process efficiency through the application of APQP, lean techniques, quality tools, and structured problem solving. Ensure that products/processes supplied to company are managed in accordance with all specified product quality requirements and the Supplier Excellence Manual.
Provide support and leadership to commodity managers, business units, suppliers / partners, and various departments of the organization. This position also interfaces and executes continuously with the Quality Assurance organization and develops strategies to ensure direct linkage of design, manufacturing, and customer requirements to supplier expectations, and ensuring timely and accurate information is made available to all affected parties. Ensure the voice of quality in all sourcing decisions -- via supplier site visits, supplier audits, and enforcement of completed quality deliverables at sourcing gate reviews. Manage development of suppliers APQP deliverables for assigned new product project or global sourcing project. Timelines, FMEA/Control Plan, Tooling/Material, Capability, Capacity/Ramp-up/down. Maintain and communicate via well organized APQP Quality Book for each part/supplier. Manage on-time acceptance of supplier PPAPs. Coordinate, involve, clarify, and ensure supplier quality (PSWs), plant, and product engineering approvals needed. On-site supplier audit/reviews/trial runs, Track milestones, Issues/Actions, Update Matrix One reporting system.

Manage resolution of any supplier product problems (from the experimental phase to production) during new product development or global sourcing launch using 8D structured problem solving methodology. Utilize supplier and company resources to contain the problem, identify root cause, and implement permanent corrective action. Communicate status with the project team. Ensure solid CTQ communication capability, error-proofing -- from RFQ thru award of business and APQP. Serve as the design bridge between company and the supplier to ensure early involvement, identification, and development of process capability for all Critical to Quality (CTQ) features. Manage development the Quality System Fundamentals (QSF) with suppliers for new product projects and global sourcing projects. Specific QSF deliverables are: Risk reduction and Error-proofing.
