I have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, with more than 4 years of professional experience in Purchase and Supply Chain Management, in a City Gas Distribution project.

I enjoy working in a high energy and high performance work environment. I have worked on and learned various aspects of purchasing like managing tenders, negotiating with vendors, develop new suppliers, etc. Currently I am responsible for purchase and effective management of various capital items of approximately Rs. 20 – 25 crores.

I am always anxious to build upon my knowledge base, enjoy taking on new challenges and thrive on responsibility. I am looking forward to work with a professionally managed organization that provides growth opportunities for the organization as well as for the self.

2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

Purchase and Supply Chain Management
 Effectively prioritized and processed all indents / requisitions received. Vide procurement requirements pertaining to diverse departments, viz. Steel and PolyEthylene (PE), Pipeline Network Projects, O&M (Operations and Maintenance), HSS&E (Health, Safety, Security and Environment), IT (Information Technology).
 Conducting cutthroat bidding by using solicitation tools such as RFPs (Request for Proposal), and RFQs (Request for Quotation) to vendors.
 Evaluating commercial bids of the vendors and preparing comparative statements recommending purchasing strategy.
 Timely Placement of Work Orders (or Service Contracts) and Purchase Orders to vendors and efficiently managing the supply chain.
 Monitoring orders and contracts for compliance with corporate procedures and performance rating of vendors, cancellation of orders and contracts for non-compliance and non-performance, thereby minimizing the cost associated with missed contract breaks.
 Establishing documentary credits with assistance from accounts department, and coordinating clearing of import consignment in cooperation with the CHA.
Materials Management and Inventory Management
 Ensuring optimum inventory levels to achieve maximum cost savings with minimum holding of stock; coordination with stores personnel for optimal management of storage areas and infrastructure to ensure smooth flow of operations.
 Expediting the delivery schedules with local, national and foreign vendors and ensuring timely procurement and replenishment of stocks without hampering the progress of the projects.
Vendor Development
 Continuous management and enhancement of supplier performance visibility and evaluation of vendors in terms of Quality, Service, Price and Delivery; thus optimizing return on capital, and reducing the cost of multi-supplier maintenance and also improve supplier relationships.
 Incessant development of new suppliers, development of strategic relationships with key suppliers thereby improvising on quality-cost-service, and maintain a comprehensive repository of the data.
 Coordinating the functions of Receipts, Inspection, Storage, Issues & Related Documentation, related Transportation Contracts, Bill processing, etc.


Responsibilities:
 Overall management of 100-120 purchase orders and contracts every year.
 Primarily responsible for effective and efficient management of Inventory worth Rs. 25 Crores (USD 5.5 million).
 Spearheading annual Procurement worth Rs. 60 Crores of materials (pertaining primarily to Steel and PolyEthylene Pipeline Networks), and ensuring continuous and optimum availability of materials for Operations as well as Projects.
 To evaluate and select suppliers based on availability, reliability and price in order to obtain the highest quality products (or services) at the best possible price.
 To coordinate and expedite various activities pertaining to the inspection of materials.
 Constantly monitoring the National and International markets for variations in pricing of raw materials and other related trends.
 To ensure compliance with corporate procurement and contracting procedures; and to manage the computerised contract management system and contribute to its development.
 To work closely with all levels of management within the Company to determine the needs, develop strategies, plan, and provide procurement sources.

Achievements:
 Contributed significantly a savings of more than Rs. 2 crores within one and half year During the tendering processes.
 Developed more than 25 additional vendors for supply of various materials, by ensuring improved and competitive pricing of materials, which resulted in substantial savings (in procurements) for MGL.
 Achieved a tremendous increase in profits (Domestic / International purchase) through improved purchasing procedures, creative purchasing strategies, strategic partnering with suppliers, and negotiations in prices in contracts of high volumes.
 Expeditious and diligent handling of all the activities pertaining to procurement (local and global) of various materials during the previous three fiscal years, whilst adhering to the procurement plan and ensuring compliance with inventory norms.
 Provided (timely) suggestions appropriately to control cost, manage quality, and improve responsiveness, thereby ensuring that the progress of the project is not hampered for want (adequate quantity) of material.
