CV/Resume Details
1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]
RE: Open Application
Dear Mr. β¦β¦
Rather than responding to an advertisement, I am applying for the function of crane-operator and/or rigger-foreman solely on my own initiative. I would like to offer your company my services for all types of lifting work and other logistical jobs carried out on a drilling or production platform. I am convinced that my broad knowledge of technology and experience with heavy work makes me well suited for the position.
For ten years, I have been operating all sorts of portside cranes and, especially with my last job (Mammoet) I have had the opportunity to build up a lot of experience working safely in the (petro-) chemical industry and handling all types of heavy loads. In 2003, I worked onboard a Seafox in the North Sea for a period of three months, so I have some experience in working off-shore. Thanks to this experience, I am no stranger to working in shifts and night shifts are also no problem.
I am flexible and I love tackling a new challenge. My interest in working off-shore is not merely coincidental. Namely, it is in my view the ideal combination of technical teamwork and my favourite environment: the sea, where I still feel as though I am discovering βnew worlds.β This feeling comes back to the hobbies I participate in regularly during my free time: kite-surfing and travel.
Finally, I would like to emphasize my willingness to follow any specialized training I may need in order to function at an optimum level in your company. It is also important to consider that English is my second language and I speak and understand it very well. I would be very pleased to further discuss the opportunities for me to serve in your company in a personal interview. I look forward to a timely reaction from you with great interest.
