I an a approved electrician with 13 years experience and 2 years experience in the oil and gas industry.
At this present moment i'm working in Norway as a instrumentation technician where i am going round the site and field testing the instrument cables from the marshaling cabinets in the outstations via a junction box to the field instrument, which includes continuity, insulation resistance of the loop and inspection of the glands, terminations and installation. Once that is obtained and verified by the QA a loop test is done from the field instrument and indicated back to the control room.
I have two years experience in the oil and gas industry I have worked in England, Canada and Norway. I have knowledge of the U.S. and Canadian standards of electrical installation.
I am a keen worker and always there to learn new skills. I now have my offshore medical and survival certificates. I want to use my skill and knowledge in the offshore industry.

Fabricom
Working in Norway in Mongstadt oil refinery site carrying out inspections and testing instrumentation devices in the field. Rectifying and maintaing devices and recording the results for statoilhydro. Testing includes heart monitoring, flow monitoring and temperature monitoring back to the control centre. Insulation resistance tests continuity and earth loop impedance tests on the electrical installation.

Working in Wales on the Liquid Natural Gas Dragon site carrying out inspections and testing on cables and gland terminations for lighting and power. Recording all results of tests. Amending as fit drawings, and rectifying any minor works.

Working in Egypt for Ingersoll on an upgrade of a CNC drilling mill for M1A1 tanks for the Egyptian army. The installation was a complete retrofit of the machine which needed new containment runs, power tracks, access panels, new control panels and transformers. All cables were tested individually and identified. All wiring installation and commissioning was done to U.S. electrical standards and specifications. It was an U.S. government job.

Working in Canada on CNRL Horizon site P.U.G. Fort Mackay Alberta oil sands, for the main contractor Technip. On a land oil rig installing cable tray and ladder rack for electrical heat tracing. Installation of heat tracing to pipe work, installation of junction boxes and wiring and termination. All standards were to U.S. and C.A. electrical standards and specifications.
