Nature of Jobs:
• Responsible for the entire ship’s quality of welding..
• Conducting test to Qualify welders.
• Witnessing WPS and PQR.
• Review shop assembly drawings against engineering drawings to ensure compliance
• Approving the welding procedures.
• Liaise and co-ordinate with classification surveyor to carry out inspection
• Co-ordinate Non-Destructive Tests (NDT) & Review radiography films.

• Perform incoming material inspection. Visual inspection on material, verify heat number, material spec & size against mill certificate & purchase order and Prepare incoming inspection report.
• Monitor the storage, backing and handling of welding consumable. In accordance with manufacture approved procedure.
• Perform fit-up inspection, as per approved W.P.S
• Monitor workmanship from time to time, inclusive welder qualification, WPS and welding sequence, pre-heating and etc
• To ensure all fabrication works are fabricated according to approved drawings & latest revision.
• Review shop assembly drawings against engineering drawings to ensure compliance.
• To ensure all fabrication works are comply with relevant project specification & classification requirements
• Arrange and co-ordinate Non-Destructive Tests (NDT).
• Liaise and co-ordinate with classification surveyor & ship owner representative to carry out inspection
• Prepare and comply all relevant fit-up / final inspection records
• Review Dimension reports of all sub blocks, major blocks & Erection blocks
• Review radiography films
• Preparing Welding Procedures & Arrange Welder Qualification Test’s
• Checking Air test for steel work
• Doing line check for pipe line’s
• Pressure testing the pipe line.

Joined Jurong Integrated Services (P) Ltd, during the year August 2001 as a Structural QA/QC Inspector and I was assist to my senior for my first project during this period I learnt many things for the next project I took charge for overall structure work for new building and in the middle of 2002 promoted as a QA/QC supervisor, during the year 2002 to 2005 fully in charge for structural and outfitting for various project and familiar with AWSD1.1 welding code and ABS shipbuilding rules. In December 2004 I was qualified as certified welding inspector (CSWIP 3.1) by TWI and in February 2005 I was qualified as Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) internal auditor, certified by ABS. and in Feb 2006 I was successfully completed the Auto Cad Level-1 in NTUC learning Hub which was certified by Auto Desk.
