I have a bachelor degree in Naval Architecture and I am a charted engineer with Italian Engineers Association.
I have a strong technical ability in naval architecture and in marine engineering, an excellent engineering design skills and shipyard experience.
I have a sound knowledge of classification society codes.
2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]
from december 2006 to present
I am the technical department manager of Cantiere navale di Pesaro running the projects of Gas Carriers of 4,000 and 9000 m3, Passenger Ferries and a Double-Ended Ferries.
My chief tasks are:
Liaising with classification society, designer and owner to seek approvals and resolutions of any issue of rules and requests;
Attending ship model tests to verify hull forms and ship performances are in compliance with the ship technical specification;
Evaluating the propulsion power and screening the main engine sizes;
Evaluating the electrical power and screening the alternator sizes;
Issuing tender technical specification, as for the machineries, and keeping contacts with the suppliers;
Issuing and managing the whole documentation concerning health and habitability on board, according IMO, SOLAS and flag state authority rules;
Liaising with flag stat authority and with classification society for any matter concerning certificates and documentation;
Attending sea trial tests, inclining experiments, light weight survey and equipment tests.
From May 2005 to December 2006
I was the project manager of a company for electrical and automation plant of Passenger Ships and Gas Carriers.
My chief tasks were:
Construction supervision and site management;
Managing the budget of the paid working hour for the work order;
Managing the aspects of the work and completing tasks within the agreed timeframe, ensuring that technical cost and schedule requirements were met;
Handling Orders for cable and electrical equipments according to the work request;
Leading a team of 40 workers;
Rendering advice, information concerning codes of practice, industry standards etc., which were applicable to the project, as well as procedures and organisation necessary to ensure compliance;
Solving fabrication & installation problems and ensure that finished job was to best standard of workmanship;
Leading the commissioning with surveyors and the delivery of the work to the shipyard;
I also headed the installation of systems like fire alarm system, noxious gas testing system, navigation system (GMDSS, VDR, VHF), EAS system, etc.
