Interfaced with sales, tech service and customers to determine material property requirements. Designed and developed new products from concept to introduction and process improvement. Sr. Engr. Plant Quality Manager:
Responsible for the quality functions and quality leadership within the plant. Design processes and product. A change agent. Provide solutions or find the needed expertise to solve process problems. Supervisor and technical advisor to the lab. An ISO auditor and Quality Facilitator for Wellman. Coach to the Quality Box side. Member of the corporate level EcoSpun Marketing Team. Member of the new products and innovation team for the division.
Plant start up team after buying plant from KRP Industries; training operators and lab technicians.

Quality Leadership
Member of the corporate team that rolled out the Quality System (TQM) to all divisions. Implemented and maintain the Wellman Quality System at the Marion Plant. Provide training in the quality system, statistical process control, process control charts, control plans and problem solving to all new team members. Mentor to new process engineers. Built benchmarks.
Quality Engineer
Design the quality process that ensures the product will meet customer needs. Work with customers, sales and technical service representative to determine customer needs. Translate the customer needs into product specification for the development engineers. Define raw materials and maintain supplier compliance. Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA), visit and audit suppliers. Partner with suppliers to maintain product consistency and to keep up with new technology. Analyze non-conformance product and out of control processes (FMEA) and propose solutions. Perform statistical studies, product-to-product and run-to-run comparison, process-to-product correlation. Jointly responsible with Tech. Service for implementing partnerships with customers. Define the release criteria for each process and maintain release guides. Generate the quality awareness throughout the plant. Keep team members up to date on new customers, new product requirements, business conditions and quality concerns.
Customer Interface
Customer visits, partnerships to define new products, resolve problems, learn their markets and meet the future needs of the customer. Develop customer specific COAs. Serve as Customer Service Representative. Technical assistance visits. Pioneered the practice of including employees on customer visits, increasing the quality awareness and involvement of all employees. .
Lab Manager
Maintain the lab to GLP standards. Develop new test methods, purchase equipment, install, and train specialists. Develop Instron tensile and Hunter color comparison tests to meet customer information needs. Develop dye test. Define the testing schedule.
Process Control
Design calibration programs for the lab and manufacturing. Design and maintain control charts and plans for the lab and manufacturing. Ensure that all processes have “Poka Yoke” designed into them to reduce the chance of error. Evaluate and develop on-line monitoring and testing. Audit process for design and compliance. Work with our Electronics and Instrumentation Engineers to develop detailed control schemes for process equipment.

Raw Material Manager:
Green field building and start up team.
Worked with contractor and equipment suppliers to install equipment and train operators.
Managed the raw material stream, incoming inspection and testing, inventory, designing raw material blends for product requirement and cost and providing the blend to production.
