1978/89 SAFETY OFFICER, THIRD/SECOND MATE ON BOARD TEXACO TANKERS

 Responsible for the routine inspection and maintenance of Fire Fighting, Life Saving and Pollution Equipment.
 Navigational Officer responsible for Passage Planning, Charts and Navigational Publications.
 Maintaining ship’s library in accordance with IMO, Flag, Port State, Classification Society and Company Requirements.
 Maintenance of Cargo and Deck Equipment – Pumps, Valves, IG System, Pipelines, Winches, etc.
 Where necessary develop and implement a training program of equipment to ensure all personnel are competent in the operation and use of such equipment.
 Making out permits for the scope of work.
 Development and implementation of a monthly safety awareness campaign in order to develop a pro-active safety culture.
 Implementation and co-ordination of Emergency Contingency Drills and Exercises to confirm the guidelines of the Emergency Contingency Procedure contents are up to date, reviewed and amended for suitability and acceptable for Company Crisis Management purposes.
 Monitor positive implementation of Company HSE Safety Management Systems and Standards in accordance with the HSE Plan. Perform HSE Activities against the Company HSE Plan seeking improvement in all areas of HSE and give positive support where necessary.

1989/96 CHIEF MATE ON BOARD TEXACO TANKERS

 Maintenance, monitoring and operation of all systems in the cargo department.
 All cargo and ballast operations including Crude Oil Washing, Tank Cleaning, Purging, Gas Freeing, etc.
 Operation of cargo equipment including Cargo, Stripping and Ballast Pumps, Hydrocyclone Unit, Metering Skid, OCMU, SAAB Radar System, NAPA Loading Computer etc.
 Calculation and monitoring of the vessel’s stability.
 Calculations of received and offloaded cargo figures.
 Planning and supervision of the maintenance in areas within my jurisdiction.
 Planning and anticipation of spare parts and other material requirements.
 Supervision of the deck crew.
 Supervision of all crane operations.
 Supervision of all supply boats entries and operations.
 Permit to Work co-ordination.

1996/03 MARINE SUPERINTENDENT & MASTER ON BOARD FSO "OLOIBIRI"
PENNINGTON TERMINAL IN NIGERIA - UNDER TEXACO MANAGEMENT

 As a Master of the FSO Oloibiri - called to manage the FSO only with support of Manning Agent (Gastaldi, Italy). Follow legal items related to the Demise charter of the vessel , Purchasing, Nigerian Crew recruitment/manning, Custom Clearing, Classification Society (ABS), Nigeria Maritime Authority, Nigeria Workers Union Negotiations, Vessel maintenance, Environment, Safety & Quality . Occasionally berthing of shuttle tankers called at Pennington Terminal. Floating underwater repair utilizing special build habitats and specialized diving team with Diving Vessel and support boats. On scene acting as Texaco Representative in charge of operations.
 Greece Drydock - reinstatement after major repairs and modifications. Team member for the drawing up of shipyard specification.
 In charge of all oil and ballast movements on the unit, including transfers of oil and water from tanks and the discharge of washing water.
 Maintaining of the Oil Record Book in accordance with MARPOL regulations.
 Responsible for the structural maintenance of the Unit, including corrosion control in cargo and ballast tanks.
 Responsible for the transfer of oil, ballast and crude oil washing during offload operations.
 Responsible for calculations of oil intake and export figures, crude in stock and storage capacity and formally reports same to the OIM and the Client.
 Maintain a record of tank and void space inspections reports, and undertakes tank inspections in accordance with a schedule of Class Continuous Survey.
 Ensure that planned maintenance requirements are undertaken in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and operating experience in a timely manner.
 Work with the AMOS system and enter data and history, as required.

2003/04 MASTER ON BOARD RO-RO “NORSE MERSEY”
 Master of Ro-Ro Pax, sailing in Mediterranean Sea and North Europe.

2004/05 TERMINAL SUPERINTENDENT & MOORING MASTER
FPSO MYSTRAS - OKONO TERMINAL – SBM/SAIPEM

 Overall responsibilities for berthing and unberthing of export tankers attending the CALM Buoy.
 Liaise closely with O.I.M. and Client representative. Advise of potential effects of prevailing sea state and weather conditions on any ongoing offloading operations.
 Responsible to verify that the Terminal regulations are adhered to.
 Carry out CALM Buoy pre-offloading inspections and report to the client all visits done there.
 Inspect all mooring equipment and floating hose and report to the client.
 Act as document Controller for Technical Libraries on board the FPSO. Liaise with the Document Controllers in PHC and Monaco on relevant matters.
 Liaise and coordinate with the Party in charge of the Maintenance of the CALM Buoy including planning of spares and Consumables.

2005/07 OFFSHORE INSTALLATION MANAGER
FPSO MYSTRAS - OKONO TERMINAL – SBM/SAIPEM

 In overall charge of FPSO and its functions and is the Company Representative offshore.
 Liaise closely with the client and maintain a good working relationship at all times.
 Ensure that all operations are carried out efficiently, with due regard to the Health, Safety and Welfare of all personnel. Ensure that all internal Company Policies are followed.
 Report to the Operations Managers daily on all relevant matters.
 Manage the operation of the FPSO and related activities under his control, Production/Gas compression, Utilities and all Maintenance Activities of the FPSO and her equipment through his departmental superintendents.
 Responsible for maintaining the FPSO and her components in class and statutory certification in date by requesting surveys, maintenance, repairs and spare parts in good time.
 Manage all emergencies in the FPSO and protect the well being of personnel and the fabric and maintenance of the installation.
 Liaise fully with all relevant onshore departments thus ensuring information is passed and received as required.
 Monitor the levels of competency on board and ensure that corrective action takes place.
 Provide guidance and support to subordinates.
 Monitor the annual assessments of personnel, ensuring fairness and accuracy.
 Ensure that probationary assessments are carried out before the probationary period elapses.
 Manage the day-to-day disciplinary and performance issues on board with appropriate reference to the Operations Managers and the General Management Office in Monaco

2007/08 OFFSHORE INSTALLATION MANAGER
FPSO GIMBOA - CONVERSION AT DUBAI DRY DOCK – SAIPEM

 Work included the participation in conversion, construction and commissioning of the FPSO whilst in Dubai Dry Dock.
 As the OIM my responsibility was to ensure the operation and acceptance of all FPSO Systems as per contract and engineering requirements.
 Coordination and organization of the activities between departments in liaison with Site and Project Management.
 Actively assist in the close out of any punch list items identified that could delay the sailing, start up and operation of the vessel.
 Ensure that detailed procedures and information about maintenance and operation of equipment is available and where necessary draft or amend such procedures accordingly.

During my work on the tankers as well as on FSO and FPSO’s I have attended several Dry Dock repairs in Singapore, Dubai, Lisboa, Naples, Skaramangas, Eleusis, Japan, Korea and others. I’m very well familiar with the procedures and work organization during conversion (FPSO, FSO) as well as repairs and maintenance (Tankers).

As Captain I have wide experience in ship handling of many types and sizes of vessels – from Panamax till VLCC’s. I’m very familiar with all the ship’s mooring and cargo handling operations including CALM Buoys, FPSO Terminals, Tandem Mooring.

As a Master I have a wide experience in dealing with authorities, clients, vendors, surveyors, etc.

As a Manager I have a wide experience with the offshore and onshore (dry dock, port) procedures including safety and security (holder of the ISPS Certificate).
