1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]
As you will see from my curriculum vitae, my experience in marketing and sales as well as my diverse interest and knowledge of the oil, and gas industries make me a strong candidate.
Over the past decade I built up a firm from scratch which involved selling to solicitors. A group of professionals who are sometimes difficult to contact even when we instruct/pay them. I am a commercially aware engineer who has managed a business by keeping a steady control of our accounts. It was a great achievement making sales, keeping up a high standard of service and achieving prompt payment. At Carlisle Legal Costing I built up a group of good clients who produced good quality work and paid promptly.
I have excellent written and spoken communication skills. I am able to see the importance of service and am proactive in making things happen and preventing things going wrong. I would build up the existing customer base and generate new customers.
I have worked for a range of businesses from Schlumberger and Halliburton to smaller construction companies like Subterra Construction. While working for Ayton Engineering, (who disposed of most of the rebuilt Flixborough Nypro Chemical Plant), I sold to companies such as BP, Texaco, Nypro and Yorkshire chemicals. I have sold large distillation columns and MW steam Turbines. As an entrepreneurial and creative engineer I was able to greatly increase my employer’s profitability by searching for plant based on strong enquires buying for example glass reactors which could be easily serviced and resold at great profit. I am used to talking to Plant/Works Engineers and giving presentations to whole groups, such as a firm of solicitors.
I feel confident that my blend of engineering skills and commercial expertise could make a major contribution to the further growth, development and profitability of numerous businesses. Please note I wish to move. I would be delighted to have the opportunity to meet with you to discuss my application in greater detail and look forward to hearing from you in due course.
