Mukhaizna, Muscat, Oman
Position : Sr. HSE Advisor

Working as Sr. HSE Advisor back to back to Safety Manager on rotation 60/30 in Occidental Mukhaizna.
We are having man power of around 600. Our project covers construction
of Electrical and instrumentation in the oil field.
We had achieved Three Million Man Hours without LTI on 27.10.2008 and achieved three million kilometers run without any Vehicle incident.
1. Reporting to General Manager, Muscat.
2. Safety Induction for all new personnel coming to the site.
3. Training of all personnel in H2S Awareness programme.
4. Conducting frequent audit and inspection to ensure the effectiveness of HSE and follow up for implementation.
5. Maintaining the records, training matrix and inventory of PPE.
6. Implementation of permit to work system, LOTO, JSA and ‘What If’.
7. Encouraging reporting of Near Miss and What If programme from the employees.
8. Safety Award scheme has been implemented. ‘Best What If’, ‘Safe Man of the Month’ and ‘Best Safe Driver’
9. Desert driving course for all drivers and plant operators are being conducted using approved third party as required.
10. permit training for all Plant & Equipment Operators are being conducted using approved third party as required.
11. Basic first aid course for all supervisors and engineers provided.
12. Checking lifting tools and equipments using check list.
13. Implementation for waste management system on site and camp.
14. Maintaining colour coding system.
15. Maintaining industrial hygiene on site and camp accommodation.

II. Work Experience:

Period : From 24.01.2006 to 28.02.2007.
Company : M/s. Burgan Well Drilling Co. (HAH)
Position : Rig Safety Officer

Worked as Rig Safety Officer on rotational basis 35/35 days
on Rig 128 (JO, Wafra) and on Rig 124.
Rig 124 is a super rig with 3000 hp and went to a depth of 17000 feet.

1. Training all personnel in H2S awareness programme.
2. Conducting daily tool box talks at the beginning of the tour.
3. Conducting drills on emergency evacuation in the rig and camp accommodation.
4. Maintaining all safety equipments like SCBA, air manifolds, fire extinguishers, H2S monitors, multi-gas detectors, H2S /LEL Sensors, Safety Harness belts, emergency eye wash fountains, emergency safety showers, and air cascade systems.
5. Maintaining the records, training matrix and inventory of PPE.
6. Conduct frequent audit and inspection to ensure the effectiveness of HSE and follow up for implementation.
7. Implementation of permit to work system, LOTO, JSA and encouraging reporting of Near Miss and S.T.O.P.
8. Checking lifting tools and equipments using check list.
9. Arranging for periodical inspection of equipments.

Worked as approved Contractor Safety Engineer for Joint Operations, on shore operations (Saudi Arabian Texaco and Kuwait Oil Company), Wafra, Kuwait in the electrical and instrumentation maintenance services with 200-man power.

1 Developed H2S awareness for every one in the site.
2 Developed scheduled safety training for all employees.
3 Conducting weekly Safety Review Meeting with Engineers and Project Manager on safety related matters.

4 Training employees in the usage of fire extinguishers, H2S gas monitors and tetra gas detectors and emergency evacuation procedures.

6 Act as a communication link between JO EMD and SHE Department.
7 Coordinating field surveys on SHE matters.

Having worked as Contractor Safety Officer in Kuwait Oil Company (Construction of New substation and load distribution, South East Kuwait) project.
Major Activities at project site:
Surveying, detection of various underground services using metal detector, excavating trenches manually and mechanically using Excavators, shifting of power cables to site, laying 11kv power cables and control cables for more than 300 kilo meters to various Gathering Centers and construction of New Substation and work inside the Gathering Centers and an average of 150 employees of various categories are engaged in.
Daily Activities:

1. Coordinating toolbox meeting.
2. Discuss with project team over the daily jobs and assess their implications.
3. Issues report on observations, advice and follow up on remarks in the safety advice log book
4. Reviews work permit issued including compliance aspects.
5. Briefing project manager and supervisors on observations.
6. Checking vehicles using checklist.

7. Visit areas assigned where work is carried out and ensure that conditions stipulated in the permit to work are being followed. Stop work, if found unsafe and notifies concerned personnel.
8. Monitoring the usage of PPE.
9. Laisoning with KOC project Safety team.
