2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]



Actively involved in coating work on tanks (water, oil & gas),vessels, superstructures, loading arms, above & below ground piping & numerous other structures for various utilities & projects. Experience as coating inspector includes work with inorganic zincs, epoxies, coal tar epoxy mastics, vinyl’s, urethanes, vinyl esters, phenolics, glass flake linings & numerous generic types of coating materials & two component liquids & solids. Considerable experience includes surface preparation techniques that includes dry abrasive blasting (open, Field, auto blasting & wheel abrator) hydro blasting & acid etching or solvent cleaning in both shop & field operations on substrate that include steel, aluminium & others. My experience includes application operations involving airless, conventional & plural component.

Specification Preparation:
My experience includes preparation of coating system and work procedure with ITP & review of specification. Coating systems based on past experience, environment/ services & paint manufacturers recommendations & meeting client requirements.

Coating & Lining Testing:
My performance includes testing work at job locations to determine the quality of surface preparation & of various paint, coating or lining installations. The specialized work can include wet film thickness, Dry film thickness, Holiday & pull- off adhesion testing, peel off testing, field chemical testing, PH measurements etc. moreover familiar with Bgas, sspc & ISO standard test practices. Preparing coating reports detailing job quality, progress & close oversight to identify potential problems & recommended solutions before the work progresses to a point where costly work is required.


I have field experience in the construction & maintenance of REFINERIES, PETROCHEMICAL PLANTS & CEMENT PLANTS. Well experienced in inspection of thermal & acoustic insulations for piping & equipment in various process areas. Cryogenic, brine, glycol, chilled water, hot water, steam condensate, steam, high temperature hot water piping, turbines, breechings, stacks, exhaust & boilers. Experienced in industrial installation techniques for insulation systems & well conversant with process industries practice codes & standards.
Well conversant in monitoring of critical installation requirements of Hot insulation (Rock wool, Ceramic Fiber, Glass Fiber, Cellular Glass) & Cold insulation (Cellular Glass, Glass Fiber & PIR ).


Actively involved in the Refractory lining applications & experienced in Supervision & Inspection. Well familiar with the ASTM, Saudi ARAMCO & SABIC Codes & Standards. Fully conversant with all types of refractory brick work, Castables, Plastic & Ramming Masses. Fully conversant with installation techniques like casting, Gunning, Hand/Ram Packing, Installation of Ceramic Fiber Modules as well as standard ceramic fiber blankets & felts. Well experienced with Cement Rotary kilns, Fired Heaters, Incinerators, Cyclones, Damper housing, Stacks & Boilers Etc.

2) Saudi Refractory Industries

Client : Tecnicas Reunidas Gulf
Position : QC Engineer (Painting)
Project : Rabigh Refining & Petrochemical Project.
Location : Rabigh, Saudi Arabia.
Period : July 2006 to May 2008

This project is providing an expansion to the existing operational plant.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Incoming Inspection

• The material (e.g. Elbows, Spools, Fittings, Vessels etc.) to be checked for any damage or steel defects and specification requirements.
• Special attention to internal and external welded areas to ensure that they have been prepared by grinding if required, allowing a satisfactory coating application to be carried out.

Blasting Operation
• Relative humidity and dew point readings to be taken and recorded,
using psychrometer in compliance with the specification.
• Surface area for coating shall be blasted to the degree of cleanliness
specified by the specification using appropriate abrasive media.
• Excessive blasting abrasives to be blown out by dry compressed air.
• Anchor pattern profile checks to be taken as per specification

Primer coating

• After blasting the material should not remain long enough for the metal surface to oxidize.
• Coating material to be used is acceptable to customer.
• Mask-off "cut-back area" as required.

Other inspection activities

• Inspecting the blasted surface as per recommendations after blasting for any residual contamination and the steel temperature before blasting
• Checking the temperature of the steel before coating as it should be under specified temperature
• Wet film thickness & Dry film thickness is measured at several different locations to ensure uniform and specified thickness using comb gauges & digital Elcometers.
• Checking coating & color uniformity
• Check calibration of holiday detector against calibrated volt meter.
• Coated surface internal and external to be holiday detected as per specification requirements.
• Coating repairs to be carried out as per manufacturer’s recommendations or client's specification.
• Stenciling to be in accordance with client's specifications.
• Records of test and quantities are maintained.
• Raising RFI & issuing ‘NCR’ where & when required.

Involved in blasting and painting inspections of,

• Tank bottoms with epoxy reinforced with chopped glass fiber.
• Tank internals with solvent free epoxies.
• Tanks external coatings.
• Pipeline internal coating with epoxy / epoxy reinforced with glass flake.
• Pipeline field joint coatings.

Instruments Handled:
Calibrating the instruments before use where required

DFT gauge -ferrous and nonferrous, WFT gauge, Sling hygrometer, Psychrometer, Steel temperature gauge, Gloss meter, Viscometers – ford cup B4, Density cups, Hegman gauge, Comb gauges, Impact tester, Surface profile gauge (testex tape method), Surface Profile comparators, Holiday detectors.

Testing non-visibles
Total dissolved solids TD Scan, Chlorides, Sulfates, Soluble Iron salts, Ferrous and Ferric, Mill scale PH Acidity/Alkalinity.
Also having good knowledge in determining Pencil hardness, Adhesion test by tape pull off, Dolly test, Flash point by Abel’s method, Sieve Analysis.

Work Experience in India – 10 Years.

1) Vasavadatta Cements, Sedam, Gulbarga Dist

Position: Senior Engineer
(Refractory Application & maintenance)

Period : June 2003 – Apr 2006

Duties & Responsibilities:
 Maintenance & Execution of refractory works to the inlet chamber.
 Complete relining of kiln hood & maintenance
 Lining of dust collectors – 2 nos
 Lining of stage 4 cyclone roof
 Lining of rotary kiln using multi-o-ring machine.
In this period I was also given the responsibility of cement production, new unit civil erections.
2) Jal Engineers Pvt. Ltd., Gujrat

Position: QC Engineer (Painting)

Period: Mar 1998 – Mar 2003
Job Description
Actively involved in coating work on tanks (water, oil & gas), vessels, out falls, under decks, superstructures, piles, loading arms, above & below ground piping & numerous other structures for various utilities & projects.
