Ensuring that all platform procedures and current HSE legislation was complied with. Advising workforce on best & safest working practices. Monitoring permit to work system on site. Giving Power Point presentation on various topics (ie. Slips, trips & falls . Ensuring that correct PPE was available and used for the task being carried out. Monitoring lifting procedures for angle bar into pits and scrap out of pits.

Ensuring all current health and safety legislation was complied with regarding Working at Height as the majority of work was carried out using access cradles. Inspecting all cradles and completing all paper work to confirm this. Liase with the University’s project manager and also the CDM co-ordinator when they visited the site and also attending project progress meetings in order to discuss any matters of safety that were outstanding from previous meetings. Carry out daily inspections of the site at the beginning and end of each shift. Inducting new employees and sub contactors when they arrived on site. I was also responsible for co-ordinating movement of traffic when deliveries arrived as they were done in a heavily populated student area. Issuing permits for roof top work and also giving tool box talks. I was also responsible for the introduction of safety signage for the benefit of all members of the public who interfaced with the site.

Duties included

Overseeing all aspects of Health & Safety regarding the removal of units from TOTAL platform CDP-1 . This included given tool box talks, writing up JSA’s (Job Safe Analysis) and also inspecting the work site before signing the Permit to Work. Liaise with HSE Supervisors, Construction Supervisors and Team Leaders in order that all tasks were carried out in line with company policies and current HSE legislation.

Educating workforce in the reporting of all hazards and near misses via the HOC system ( Hazard Observation Card ).

Monitoring and reviewing all risk assessments so that all necessary precautions are in place before a task begins.

Monitoring all high risk activities such as working at height and working over water so that there is minimum risk to the workforce taking part.

Stop all tasks when there was a clear risk to the workforce either from a change in weather conditions or the condition of their work site.

Monitor safety standards in line with Russian Federation Law and yard legislation (i.e. PPE, Lifting Equip, COSHH, Manual Handling, Environmental Impact Issues etc.).

Liase with the client in order that all their safety requirements are met in line with those listed in the contract. Advise on best and safest working practices / procedures. Implementing new procedures and updating existing ones in order that Russian Federation standards are maintained.

Also attend daily/weekly project meetings to convey shortfalls in safety standards. Conduct safety inspection on a daily/weekly basis. Write a weekly report with regard to the negative and positive aspects of health, safety and environmental issues on all project areas.
