• Electrical/Electronic Field Technician with experience in operation, maintenance and repair of shipboard power generation systems and governor controls, special frequency conversion equipment, shipboard switchgear and distribution systems, shipboard control consoles, and pump/winch controllers and associated switchgear. Extensive training and experience in shipboard Command and Control systems, Navigation systems and Aviation Flight Deck lighting and Safety systems, Announcing systems, and Alarm and Warning systems. Experience in troubleshooting and repair of shipboard radar, communications equipment, and associated cooling systems.

• Arabic language fluency at the conversational level (Egyptian dialect), including shipboard and marine systems terminology. Semi-fluency in reading and writing.

• Trained SCUBA diver, Rescue diver, Decompression diver, and Diving Gas Blender.

• Currently certified CPR, Emergency First Responder, and AED

• Authorized to work in the United States

2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

Atlantic Ordnance International , Norfolk, VA. October 1997-31 January 2008
Employed as an Interior Communications systems repair technician. Provided “down-river” support to U.S. Navy ships located at the Norfolk and Little Creek Naval Bases. Assisted in conducting habitability upgrades and supervised aviation and electronic system upgrades. Reassigned to the Combat Systems workshop and instructed in the troubleshooting and repair of Fire Control Radar power supplies. Conducted overhaul of SPG-53G and AN/SPS-40 Radar system power supplies for the Egyptian Navy.

Deployed to Alexandria Egypt 21 March 1998 as subcontractor to Booz Allen Hamilton/VSE Corporation in support of the Egyptian Navy:

Assigned as Technical Assistance and Training (TAT) team member.
• Responsible for training Egyptian Navy (EN) personnel on 6 former US Navy ships (Knox/Perry class) in the operation, maintenance, and repair of navigation equipment (electrical and non-electrical), Visual Landing Aids for flight deck systems, Ship Command and Control Systems, Combat Systems electrical interface systems, internal Alarm Warning and Indicating systems, Depth Finding equipment, Steering Gear, shipboard power generation and distribution systems, electronic cooling systems, interior communication and announcing systems, Special Frequency Conversion equipment, and small boat electrical and mechanical systems.
• Provided training to shipboard personnel in the planning and work request submission for regular ship repair availabilities and overhauls, to include technical documentation and logistic support packages.
• Provided liaison and support services to visiting repair and special program teams. Provided the Egyptian Navy with follow-on training, maintenance and repairs upon completion of team visits. Special programs include Self Propelled Acoustic Trainer (SPAT) program use for training of sonar operators, AN/SQS-25A NIXIE torpedo counter-measure systems, complete platform Combat Systems Alignment for all weapons suites onboard Knox and Perry class ships, external communications systems upgrades and installations, and Aviation systems inspection and certification teams.

United States Navy Jan 1979-Dec 1997*
Served on 8 different ship classes and 2 shore tours at Intermediate Maintenance Activities (IMA) as an Interior Communications technician. Responsibilities included, but were not limited to, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of all shipboard internal communications systems, shipboard electrical and electronic navigation systems, Alarm Warning and Indicating systems, Own Ship’s systems interface with Combat Systems equipment, Switchboards and special power generation equipment. Provided leadership and training to junior personnel, acted as Work Center Supervisor or Divisional Leading Petty Officer (LPO) at various commands, managing day-to-day operations of Electrical Divisions and planning for ship deployment periods. Honorably retired as Interior Communications First Class Petty Officer (Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist) in December 1997.
