After undergoing a three months multi-disciplinary induction training program, posted in the contract cell which was responsible for all overseas contracts in Seismic data acquisition and processing. The assignments included preparation of contract documents, adherence of contractual conditions and quality control of Seismic data acquisition in the field. Successfully overseen contracts with international majors like GSI, Western Geophysical, CGG, Digicon and National companies like Polservice and Soviet field parties. Awarded a merit certificate for tracing a misplaced overseas consignment.

1988-92
Senior Geophysicist, (ONGC), Interpretation section of the Krishna Godavari project. Madras, India.
Initiation of seismic interpretation . Interpreted the complex Gondwana graben in the Mandapeta onland structure which resulted in the identification and drilling of the first oil well within the Gondwanas on the Mandapeta structure. Also interpreted the high pressure Paleocene sands and Inter-trappean reservoirs in the Razole-Tatipaka areas. Visited Geofyzika Torun, Poland, processing center for a month to QC the data processing. In 1989 promoted to the post of Senior Geophysicist.

1992-93
Senior field Geophysicist, ONGC, Geophysical party - Cambay Basin- Western India
Apart from acquiring regular 2D seismic data, the party was also assigned the task of acquisition of 4D seismic data for fire front monitoring of insitu thermal combustion project in the Balol-Santhal heavy belt oil field. In the same year 2D Shear wave data was also acquired for the first time in Western India.

1993-2000
Deputy Superintending Geophysicist (1994-97) & promoted to Superintending Geophysicist (1997-2000), ONGC, Mehsana Asset - Gujarat state, India.
In 1993 selected for a very prestigious assignment of one of the first Geophysicists to be posted in the Mehsana project (presently called Mehsana Asset) to work in a multi-disciplinary environment for exploration, delineation and development of fields in north Cambay basin., The seven year tenure resulted in the discovery of a number of new pools, enhanced reserve accretion and pivoted Mehsana asset as the highest onland producer in India.. Some of the major HC discoveries during this period are given in Appendix –1. Catered to the seismic interpretation (both 2D & 3D ) needs of six groups in a multidisciplinary environment, planned for Seismic data acquisition and VSP as well as provided locations for an average of six drilling rigs. Seismic interpretation skills garnered during this period include, integrated Geoscientific data interpretation techniques, structural and stratigraphic techniques, forward and reverse modelling, identification of thin sands, deep prospect exploration in poor reflection strength areas using Geological modeling, techno-economic analysis etc.
Received cash awards for five years, promotion at Deputy Suptd Geophysicist level preponed by an year and a paper published during this period won the Director’s best paper award. Promoted to the post of Superintending Geophysicist in 1998.

2000-003
Team leader, ONGC, Assam basin in the northeastern part of India
Major interpretation challenges included, interpretation of complex structures in thrust fold tectonics and predicting reservoir heterogeneity. These challenges were addressed using inversion techniques, seismic facies analysis using ‘stratimagic software’, depth modeling and attribute analysis. The group had the distinction of proposing the highest number of released locations in that year. Awarded two merit certificates for excellence achieved in exploration activities. A sequence stratigrahic analysis of the Geleki area was also done during this period.
One of the locations proposed by our team in Changmaingaon area has produced oil @ 120 cubic mts./day opening up the SW part of the field for exploration. The interpretation was done on the CGG software “integral Plus”
