Please allow me to briefly introduce myself. I am currently employed as a geologist at an Austin-based engineering firm and am interested in transitioning to the oil and gas sector after February 1, 2009. My current role supports several regional aquifer characterization studies, specifically the Yegua-Jackson and Gulf Coast systems.

Over the course of this project, my responsibilities have included researching and obtaining well data and wireline logs to be used in lithologic determination/correlation; development and maintenance of an Access database to manage this dataset; and software support, specifically integration of data with ArcGIS and PETRA. In short, I make sure the Senior Geologist and other project managers have the data they need to do analysis and make decisions.

I have a strong educational background in geology and mathematics. Over the last year, I have built on this background through my work, gaining knowledge of wireline logging by examining literally thousands of well records and ultimately reviewing and selecting for study, hundreds of actual well logs. Additionally, I completed an AAPG short course in basic well log analysis.

I am interested in working in a high-energy, results-driven environment. I believe that any of my references would confirm that I have excellent data management and processing skills and that I am willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
