I have served on ocean going vessels since June 2005. I have more than 500 hours on watch on the bridge of the SAS PROTEA as an under training Officer of the Watch(Bridge Watchkeeper).
I sat and passed a Bridge Watchkeeping board on 18 May 2006(First Attempt) and stood more than 550 hours watch as Officer of the Watch (OOW) on a surface vessel. (An OOW is the Navy equivalent of a Deck Officer)
I have served as an under training OOW onboard South African Submarines with more than 400 hours on watch(under training) and more than 300 hours as OOW(Dived and on the surface).
Leadership positions: I have served as the 1st lieutenant of the SAS TOBIE and as a divisional Officer onboard the South African Submarine SAS Charlotte Maxeke.
