| 1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory] |
I am currently seeking a unique and challenging job within the crane and hoisting trade. I have
experience with different types of cranes such as Rough Terrain, All Terrain, Boom trucks,
Hydraulic Truck Mount and Hydraulic crawlers. I have operated these cranes with capacities of up
to 165 Tons and boom lengths up to 270 feet without difficulty.
I received the highest achievement award in 2007 after graduating with my Red Seal certification from Red River
Community College in the Crane and Hoisting program in conjunction with the Operating Engineers Training
Institute of Manitoba.
I have worked in the oil and gas industry in northern Alberta for several years and for the past 4 years I have been
working with a Winnipeg based crane rental service. I have also done work on the St. Leon Windmill project in
southern Manitoba, pipeline jobs and remote camp jobs in Canada's north. While in northern Alberta I also worked directly
on an oil rig for approximately 6 months prior to moving into the crane and hoisting field. While in Alberta, I was
primarily working in the Fort McMurray tar sands development area.
I am accustomed to working in remote locations and in being away from my home base for long periods of time. I am 31 years old and am in good physical health. I am married and presently we do not have children. My wife is currently a full time student at the University of Manitoba.
I am extremely safety conscious and I believe that safety is #1 on the job. I take all steps necessary to
avoid any and all incidents.
I am sure that with my eagerness to succeed and my strong work ethic, which have been valued by previous employers, would be an asset to your company.
My passport application has been filed and I expect to receive it within two weeks. I presently do not have
the BST certification but I am prepared to take this training immediately upon hire. Over the past 8 years, I have taken the following courses a number of times to fulfill job required safety initiatives: H2S Alive, First Aid,
WHMIS, and TDG certifications.
I thank you for your consideration of me for this position and would be pleased to discuss the opportunity
further with you.

Job experiences:
2000-2001
Woody’s Oilfield Service
During this period I became a registered Alberta apprentice on boom-trucks up to 30 Ton
capacities. We were responsible for the maintenance and set-up and relocating of oilfield pump-
jacks for Gulf Canada in the Red Earth Creek area. We also did general oilfield hauling as well
as traveling to remote camp locations to perform oil field maintenance for extended periods of time.
2002-2004
EOS Pipeline and Facilities-
While working with this company I operated their 18 and 23 Ton boom trucks and tractor
trailer units in the Red Earth Creek and surrounding areas. I was also responsible for the loading
and hauling of some of their heavy equipment to various job sites throughout the north.
2004-2005
Cameron Brothers Oil and Water Transport-
In this position, I Operated straight and articulated trucks and trailers to transport oilfield
fluids from drill rig locations to processing facilities. These were typically camp based jobs with
little or no supervision while performing my duties. Duties included Vehicle maintenance, pre and post trip
log and bill of lading and customer payments. While working at Cameron Brothers I became familiar with
procedures necessary to operate, load and unload vacuum trucks and tankers safely.
2005-2005
B.W. Leskow Trucking-
Duties included hauling various types of aggregate with end-dump tractor trailer units. Travel was often
in a group with radio communication to monitor oncoming traffic. Minor maintenance on trucks and
trailers was performed as well. This job was performed in Slave Lake Alberta and the
surrounding area.
2006-2007
Able Movers Ltd.-
Operate hydraulic cranes as a registered Manitoba apprentice with Union local # 987. I
have been operating hydraulic cranes with capacities up to 65 Ton. This includes rough terrain
cranes, mobile cranes, boom trucks and carry decks. Heavy machinery moving is also a big part
of this job.
2007-2008
MAMMOET Canada Western-
Operate RT type (TEREX, TADANO, GROVE) hydraulic cranes up to 80 Ton capacity
in Fort McMurray Alberta, Canada. Work in oilsands production facilities while living in remote
camp locations. Assist in the erection of crawler cranes.
2008-2009
Able Movers Ltd.
Operate RT, AT and truck mount cranes within Manitoba. Most recently I have been
operating a 165 Ton Demag All-Terrain. I was on the St. Leon Windmill Project with 164 feet of
