I am currently working as a senior tower crane instructor/operator, at Bobby Beveridge Tower Crane Training. I conduct, oversee and examine all trainees at the training centre. I have 14 years experience working in the construction industry on all cranes types.
I am looking for work as a crane operator in the oil and gas industry offshore. Tower crane instructor January 2005 – present
My duties include delivery of a high quality training service,CITB/CPCS and NVQ assessments on saddle, luffing and pedestrian tower cranes. We also offer a training programme for slinger/signaller which runs along side the tower crane course.
The training is giving over a 2 week period which includes classroom and practical work. In the classroom I teach health and safety, crane maintenance and general crane knowledge, including L.O.L.E.R and P.U.W.E.R which is then put to practise by the trainees on the cranes themselves prior to the issue of certification to operate this machinery.
My duties also include site and crane inductions, training and testing of the operation and workings of the various tower cranes at the test centre.
As senior instructor at the training centre I delegate tasks to the assistant instructors and ensure they are following the correct procedures, training methods and monitor the progress of their personel development.

My duties included operating tower cranes at heights in excess of 1000ft e.g. Citi group tower, second tallest building in the UK. Whilst working there I was promoted to the role of crane coordinator. My duties then included over seeing all aspects of lifting and machinery operations arranging machine allocations, producing risk assessments/method statements, completion of time sheets, wage control and generally ensuring the smooth running of site operations.
