1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]
During my working life I have had the opportunity to experience jobs in a variety of different industries. I have worked for various oil companies as a roughneck. Whist working for Global Santa Fe, as well as attending the required training courses I began, in my own time, to train as a storeman. Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond my control I was unable to complete this and came back to Orkney. During my time with Global I also volunteered and undertook the necessary courses to become the Health and Safety Representative for my shift.
I have had experience with the maintenance of process trains ie seperators, desalters and heat exchangers as well as valves and pipe work, I have started to do the petroleum open learning modules in my spare time and hope to complete the first module in January.
Whilst in the Foreign Legion I served in the 2nd Parachute Regiment and travelled to a variety of countries. As well as improving my general fitness, I learnt a lot from my time in the Legion including self discipline and the importance of interpersonal skills and trust.
I am physically fit and enjoy a variety of interests including motor cycling, rugby, reading and cooking. I am self motivated, honest, reliable and trustworthy which my referees would be happy to confirm on my behalf. Although I do not have the engineering background of most I believe that the attributes I have motivation, discipline, and the willingness to learn coincided with my offshore, military and marine background these can only benefit myself and any future employer.
Look forward to hearing from you soon.
