Duties and responsibilities:

Provide technical support, domestic and industrial services to all areas of the vessel. Act as assistant watch-keeper and exercise effective control and efficient operation of vessel power plant and machinery spaces with due regard for the safety of the crew, the vessel and its contents and the protection of the environment. Responsible for preventative maintenance and repair of air compressors, vacuum sewage plant, water production (reverse osmosis and evaporation type), bilge handling equipment (OWS) as well as main engines, azimuth thrusters and bow thrusters. Also, the maintenance and repair of 400t Huisman crane falls under my duties and responsibilities.

Exercise effective planning to utilise the vessels resources and expertise to ensure that the vessel is at all times seaworthy and maintained/operated in accordance with prescribed company guidelines, at all times observing international statutory regulations

Assist the engineer in charge of the watch, in operating the ships main propulsion plant and auxiliary equipment
