Position: Process Operator
Job Summary: Operates and cares equipment and monitors process condition of extrusion section on a shift basis including polymerization section and off-sites facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Production of Products
Objective: To produce products of the desired volume and quality.
a. Carries out effectively start-up with shutdown procedures in the extrusion section in accordance with written operating instruction.
b. Prepares equipment for maintenance work or for operation.
c. Operate equipment in purification section, recovery section, polymerization section, extrusion section and off-sites facilities.
d. Monitors and record equipment and process parameters.
e. Adjusts or verifies process condition in the field as necessary or as requested by the shift foreman or boardman.
f. Charges chemical in off-sites facilities.
g. Charges additives as per schedule.
h. Perform oil topping, first line maintenance and regular equipment cleaning.
i. Involves in troubleshooting of process related problems in the extrusion section and off-sites facilities.
j. Minimize generation of waste and avoid long downtime by constant field monitoring to preempt possible equipment and process abnormalities.
k. Performs minor repair on the equipment being handled when needed.
l. Assists in the operation of the other section of the plant.
m. Exhibit vigilance in executing job assignment.
n. Must be physically present on assigned areas most of the time for closer monitoring & early response to process deviation.
o. Informs immediate superior regarding process deviation.
2. Product Quality
Objective: To produce products of the desired quality.
a. Takes pellet sample from extrusion section on a required time interval & waste water sample for quality analysis.
b. Adjust ph of the pellet water tank to the operating range.
c. Takes powder samples before the extruder as needed.
d. Performs in the process test analysis when needed.
3. Equipment Care
Objective: To ensure that equipment are properly handled and cared for to maximize benefits & minimize cost & losses.
a. Performs oil topping & regular equipment cleaning.
b. Performs minor repair on the equipment being handled when needed.
c. Report to superior any abnormal condition observed on equipment for immediate attention.
d. Exhibit vigilance in monitoring field condition to preempt possible equipment & process abnormalities.
4. Safety
Objective: To operate extrusion section safely.
a. Isolates process units in the extrusion section prior to maintenance work.
b. Conducts regular safety facility checks in extrusion section on a regular basis.
c. Regularly attends safety talk conducted by the shift supervisor.
d. Cares & maintains equipment in the process area.
e. Maintains good housekeeping in the extrusion area.
f. Member of the fire brigade.
5. Customer Satisfaction (Internal & External)
Objective: To provide service to both internal & external customers.
a. Brings pellet sample from extrusion & waste water sample to laboratory on time.
b. Assists maintenance group during shutdown when needed extra manpower.
c. Ensure proper turnover is carried out to the incoming reliever.
