1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

Marine Chief Engineer

• Responsible for the design, proper operation and maintenance of all systems in the engineering spaces. This includes the propulsion systems, propulsion system controls, main engines, auxiliary engines, turbochargers, boilers,condensers,steam turbines, cargo pump fuel oil and lube oil systems, bilge and fire systems, electrical systems and components, HVAC systems, elevators, various pumps and piping systems, fresh water generators, pneumatics, hydraulics and fuel and oil systems, cargo pipe -line systems. The maintenance of these systems centers around the preventive maintenance system (PMS) in place on the vessel as well as reactive maintenance that may occur due to the nature of the system and operations of the vessel. The engineer is required to keep the master of the vessel as well as the General Technical Manager Engineer notified as to the condition of these systems and to report any maintenance on these systems that would affect their operation.
• Maintain and repair deck machinery such as cranes, convaeers, capstans, winches, davits and misc. hydraulics. Keep potable (fresh or drinking) water system to CDC and/or FDA standards and ensure that proper documentation and records are kept to prove compliance. Maintain and repair habitability systems such as air conditioning and plumbing and respond to passenger and crew complaints pertaining to these systems. Train deckhands in basic room repairs to assist the engineer with these tasks. Regularly inspect all voids and bilges for structural and watertight integrity. Ensure that all void and bilges and kept clean and dry with respect to pollution control regulations.
• Responsible for maintaining inventory, troubleshooting, providing technical expertise, and
main and auxiliary equipment testing.
• Reviewed, repaired and ensured manpower, machinery, tools and equipment were operating
effectively.
• Coordinates activities of vessel power plant.
• Prepared instruction and reference manuals.
• Trained personnel and equipment operation and maintenance
• Maintain proper engineering paper work as the Port Engineer. This is to include the daily log, fuel
and water logs, preventive maintenance records and machinery index, spare parts list. Assist the Technical Manager Engineer with developing of the current ships maintenance projects for the annual repair availability

• Some planning of drills and the revision of the station bill which gives all crew members their responsibilities in any given emergency such as fire, flooding, abandon ship, man overboard, etc. Also involved in the training during and after drills. Document new emergency procedures as needed and revise existing emergency procedures to handle any emergency situation. All officers, engineer staff are involved directly with this process.
