CV/Resume Details
1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

Dear Sir/Madam,
I'm a time served Plater/Welder with lots of experience in large engineering construction jobs, offshore as well as on. I have lots of up to date certs for working offshore including - current offshore survival, offshore medical, working in confined spaces, rigger cert - slinger/signalman, basic working at heights cert. I am more than willing to travel.

2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

November 2007 - Present
MT Hojgaard - Centrica - N Power - Dong

My present job involves the preparation of foundations on large offshore wind farms around the UK. Iíve been involved in the offshore construction of 4 major fields - Lynn, Inner Dowsing, Rhyl Flats and Gunfleet Sands fields. The majority of work is plating/welding in confined space and secondary work - electrical wiring, J- Tube Installation, shim removal and general inspection. The role also includes transferring from boats to foundations and working in conjunction with commercial diving teams.

August 2007 - November 2007
Derrick Services Limited (DSL)

I was employed by DSL as a plater on a contract for the Kuwait Oil Company. The contract comprised three large land rigs for the Middle Eastern desert. My role was to fabricate large steel structures for the rigs in their workshop as well as fitting some sections to the main assembly out in the yard. This work was of a very high standard and inspected throughout.

August 1995 - July 2007
James Killelea Ltd

My employment at James Killelea Ltd was as a Plater/Welder. The majority of employees at James Killelea were employed as either platers or welders, I was qualified and trained to do both. My role was to fabricate and weld large steel structures to high standards of workmanship and to high tolerances. I have the ability to work alone using 1st and 3rd angle engineering drawings, this skill is an essential part of the job. Many of the jobs were NDT tested using Mag particle testing or X-Ray tested, therefore very high welding standards had to be adhered to. I've fabricated and welded every type of steel section from thick plate to box girder, T-section to Angle iron and tubular to channel. The job also required me to turn and lift large steel structures in a safe and proper manner using overhead cranes. Five years of my time at James Killelea's were in a supervisory role.

August 1994 - August 1995
Adelaide Engineering

I was employed by Adelaide in the capacity of a welder. This company specialized in constructing hi-tec machines for the world-wide rolling mill industry. Most of the work was on thick plate with lots of multi-run welding up to 30mm fillets. All welding was NDT tested. Lots of jobs involved pre-heating and the use of temperature sticks. It was my job as a welder to ensure the job was at the correct temperature stipulated on the job sheet, before welding commenced. Some of the work involved the use of metals other than mild steel and also the joining of different metals. There was also a considerable amount of heavy welding with Stainless steels, all of which was X-Ray tested. The majority of welding was with MIG using 1.2mm and 1.6mm wire and Argon shield gas. Due to the weights and sizes of most of these constructions, lots of the welding was positional i.e. vertical and overhead. The job also involved the safe lifting and turning of steel structures up to 20te.

March 1990 - August 1994
Python Cranes Ltd

I served a full engineering apprenticeship at Python Cranes in conjunction with my O.N.C in Mechanical Engineering (Day Release to college). My apprenticeship involved the fabrication and welding of materials handling equipment. Due to the nature of this work all welding and plating was to the very highest standards (Lloyds) and all lifting equipment was proof tested on the in factory test rig (128te SWL). Many jobs were of a one-off nature and our customers included the likes of British Aerospace, British Nuclear Fuels Limited, Petrochemical companies, ICI, British Steel etc. Each of these companies brought there own strict standards that we adhered to and I found this the perfect environment in which to serve my time and get used to working at such high standards. My role at Python Cranes also involved the installation of materials handling equipment on site and torqueing together of parts.

3. Education & Training - CV/Resume Part 3 [Mandatory]

5 GCSE in English, Maths, Physics, Electronics and History (Todmorden High School)
1st BTEC Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Rochdale Technical College)
