I’m looking for a start as Roustabout or similar position,
I am a self motivated and reliable individual who functions well on an individual and team level. I am skilled in all areas of carpentry, although have specialised in roof work, shop fitting and workshop. I have worked on several prestigious projects including the 2003 Special Olympics (Dublin) and as Foreman on the building of St Vincent De Paul complex in Dublin.
I have gained communication and people skills during the course of my travels and have a great deal of life experience. However, I have reached a time in life where I am ready to settle back home and start on the next chapter, a rewarding career. I started my Apprenticeship as a carpenter here in 1994, was on block release from work to college usually 6 weeks at a time.
My first year training was in the workshop and my journey man Andy Scott showed me everything from making windows to stairs which i become competent enough to do myself after 6 months. I was also trained to use all the different machines in the construction trade and a manual handling course.
In my second year I went out to the sites to learn 1st and 2nd fix and roofing, which I picked up fast by the end of my second year I, was working on my own sent from site to site.
I ended up a foreman for the company and had a couple of apprentices which i trained and are still working there now.
