Job Description:

The crane equipment required for execution of the planned application must be prepared in accordance with the information on head especially. STEPS TO BE TAKEN BEFORE CRANE OPERATION

1. The ground condition on the site of crane operation should be checked with regards to stability (load –bearing capacity) if necessary the ground should be rein forced with sheet metal pleats
2. The drive ways to be used by the site should be cleaned, any unevenness should be eliminated
3. The lifting capacities indicated in the charts are only valid for the vehicle standing on level ground (crane standing free on wheels)
4. Or for the crane aligned horizontally and stabilized by out riggers
The crane must be supported by out riggers as specified the axel suspension must be blocked before out rigger operation according to the operating manual
5. All out rigger beams must be extended completely and locked mechanically .if the outrigger beams are not extended completely this reduces the lifting capacity .
6. The out rigger cylinders must be supported with robust material. (e.g. timbers) and centers on these large –size supports (deals or piles of bricks are not suitable)
7. The out rigger cylinders must not extended to their end positions wooden planks be placed underneath the outrigger, leveling a clearance of approx (10 to 15 MM in the cylinders)
8. The vehicle must be aligned horizontally (watch spirit levels)
9. The tires must be lifted clear off the ground, it this is specified in the operating manual
10. The tires must checked for the specified inflating pressure with a load fixed to the boom is admissible according to the operating manual or notes referring to the load charts
11. Before starting to work with the crane check the vehicles hydraulics system and all controls and gauges for proper working order
12. The shortest possible boom lengths and work radius must be used on all accounts the work radius is the distance between the center of the ringer and the center of the bottom block or the load
13. The size and the weight of the load to be lifted must be known
14. The bottom block, the load securing ropes, the cross beams etc, are parts of the load must be deducted from the lifting capacities in question
15. The safety equipment installed in the machine must be checked for pension and proper working order if the operating staff is not absolutely sure its function or reliability (100%) crane work must not be started
