Iím 32 years old and married. I completed a 5-year Diploma Course in Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at the Feati University in Manila, Philippines in the year 1998. I have two licenses in the fields of Electrical Engineering; Registered Master Electrician and Registered Electrical Engineer.

My current job of more than 5 years is with Gulf Stabilizers Industries (GSI) located in Jubail Industrial City, Saudi Arabia, which is a joint venture between Zamil Group Holding Co. and Chemtura Corporation (merger between Great Lakes Chemical Corporation and Crompton), the worldís largest plastic additives and global specialty chemical company. My exposure in my previous companies (almost 6 years) and GSI (5 years) in the field of Distributed Control System (DCS Centum CS3000, Yokogawa), power generation, power distribution, HV/LV switchgears, AC UPS, DC UPS, HV/LV Motor Control Centers, DCS, Programmable Logic Controllers, Variable Frequency Drives, DC Drives, AC/DC Motors, and Sytems Applications and Productions (SAP) as well as in its safety trainings, will greatly add value to your Companyís operations.

Senior Electrical Technician, September 2003 up to present

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Diagnoses, checks and repairs faults on various items of equipment in the power generation, distribution system and other related equipments in the process, utility, methanolysis and extrusion plants such as chillers, steam boilers, air compressors, process hot oil fired heaters, methanol units, elevators, transformers, neutral ground resistors, capacitor bank, hoists & cranes, extruders, blenders, SCR, frequency inverters, DC drives, PLC, DCS, LV/HV AC motors, DC motors, pumps, air-conditioning units, explosion proof lightings and receptacles. Carries out other similar or related duties which includes; carrying out jointing and splicing of cables, cable glanding, earthing of equipments, keeping electrical drawings and records up to date, maintaining personal tools and workshop equipments. Assists in the installation and testing of new electrical equipments and systems.
4.16KV motor control centers, motor ratings of up to 510 KW. The motors are protected with protection relay (overcurrent, ground fault, overvoltage, undervoltage, phase reversal, back spin and RTDs (in the motor windings, DE & NDE bearings). Performs fault findings in the control circuits, repairs & replaces defective control and power components such as current limiting power fuses, isolators, vacuum contactors, protection relays, control relays, control switches and other safety switch interlocks. Carries out testing of 4.16KV motors, measuring the insulation resistance by polarization index (PI) test and getting the line resistance. Lock-out and tag-out the control switches and main disconnecting means. Performs preventive maintenance.

480V motor control centers. Carries out complex fault findings of withdrawable motor controls, checks and replaces defective molded case circuit breakers (MCCB), magnetic contactors, auxiliary contacts, circuit breaker control knobs, control transformers and fuses. Motor ratings of 120 HP up to 400 HP are protected with motor protection relay (overcurrent, ground fault, phase loss/unbalance current, phase reversal and back spin protection). Troubleshooting of control circuits through motor schematic diagrams and instrument loop diagrams (ILD). Diagnoses fault/alarm in the distributed control system (DCS) for stop signal, start signal, running indication and safety interlocks of the motors. Carries out motor testing, measuring the insulation resistance by polarization index (PI) test or short time/spot test and getting the line resistance. Lock-out and tag-out the withdrawable motor control circuit breakers. Performs preventive maintenance.

LV switchboards. Performs fault findings in the control circuits and power circuits of low voltage switchboards such as protection relay, withdrawable circuit breakers, auxiliary contacts and other safety interlocks (mechanically and electrically interlocks). Carries out preventive maintenance.

4.16KV metal clad switchgears. Performs fault findings, repairs and preventive maintenance. Troubleshooting of controls through schematic diagrams and diagnoses faults in the control circuits and in the switchgear components such as in overcurrent and ground fault relay, overvoltage and undervoltage relay, lock-out-relay and vacuum circuit breakers. Able to operate the switchgears in local mode. Rack-out and rack-in withdrawable vacuum circuit breakers and switching on grounding system. Lout-out and tag-out the control switches and vacuum circuit breakers. Records the readings of power quality meter (PQM).

AC generator. Diagnoses, checks and repair faults in the power generation and distribution system such as in generators, generator switchgears, synchronizing equipments, generator protection relays (overcurrent, ground fault, overvoltage, undervoltage, reverse power and frequency protection), digital auto voltage regulator, automatic speed governor and other safety interlocks (i.e., engine oil pressure and temperature, coolant temperature and level, exhaust temperature, engine overcrank and overspeed. Able to operate the AC generators and generator switchgears, shift the loads either in automatic or manual operation. Operates paralleling operation through synchronization procedures. Performs preventive maintenance.
34.5KV gas (SF6) insulated switchgears (GIS) and 34.5KV air insulated switchgears. Diagnoses and repairs of control faults and switchgear components such as in ATS, overcurrent and ground fault relay, overvoltage and undervoltage relay, lock-out-relay, SF6 circuit breakers, vacuum circuit breakers, mechanically interlocks and safety interlocks in the 34.5 KV/4.16 KV oil filled power transformers (i.e., winding temperature, oil temperature, buchholtz relay, oil level and pressure relief). Repairs and replaces defective components and equipments related to switchgears. Able to shift the loads from feeder to another feeder in local mode. Rack-out and rack-in withdrawable SF6 circuit breakers, withdrawable vacuum circuit breakers and switching on grounding system. Lock-out and tag-out the control switches, SF6 circuit breakers and vacuum circuit breakers. Maintains the gas pressure in the bus bar housing and in the circuit breaker housing of gas insulated switchgears. Records energy meter readings as a part of daily routine and carries out preventive maintenance.
Distributed control system (DCS). Diagnoses and repairs of control faults in the field control station, interposing panel, emergency shutdown (ESD) and marshalling panel by using instrument loop diagrams (ILD). Checks relays for stop signal, start signal, running indication and interlocks of the motors.

Programmable logic controller. Diagnoses and repairs faults in the control system, control sequence, interlocks, input signal, output and feedback signal. Checks and replaces defective input cards, output cards, discharged back up battery, power supply, CPU, input contacts and output relays.

Variable frequency drives. Responsible for the maintenance and troubleshooting of controls through control diagrams and alarm/fault displayed in the VFD monitor. Check the enabling, start and stop signals, 4-20 mA or 0-10V reference input and motor speed sensor.

DC drives. Responsible for the maintenance and troubleshooting of controls through the control diagrams and alarm/fault displayed in the DC drives monitor. Check the control loops and tachogenerator or encoder which measures the actual rpm of the DC motor. Checks and replaces defective carbon brushes and performs preventive maintenance.

DC UPS SYSTEM. Performs fault findings of the control circuits and equipment. Carries out preventive maintenance such as checking and replacing 6-pulse thyristor rectifiers, blocking diodes, voltage regulators, electronic control cards, electrolyte of the batteries, batteries specific gravity and the condition of the equipment.

AC UPS SYSTEM. Performs fault findings of the control circuits and equipment. Carries out preventive maintenance such as checking and replacing rectifier, SBS, inverter, electronic control cards, electrolyte of the batteries, batteries specific gravity and the condition of the equipment.
Participates in major shutdown, overhaul works and preventive maintenance, which includes the dismantling and testing of electrical equipments including high voltage motors and starters, LV/HV switchgears, feeder breakers, generators and motor control units. Reviews history on breakdowns or trips, checks starter contacts and the operation of mechanical interlocks. Carries out all restart and function testing of equipment.
Conducts preventive maintenance measures in all electrical equipment. Ensures that all electrical equipment is at the optimum level of reliability and dependability.

Knows how to well-interpret and executes fault findings in the following diagrams; power generation system, power distribution system, single line diagrams, schematic diagrams, control system circuits, instrument loop diagram (ILD), piping & instrument diagram (P&ID), and PLC circuit diagrams, sequence diagrams and ladder diagrams.

Complies and updates work orders in the computerized maintenance management (SAP).

Complies with the fire & general safety regulations, permit to work systems and other relevant documentation such as EHS management system, QMS and EMS. Carries out all activities in accordance with Company safety procedures and manufacturer's recommendations, ensuring that all precautions are taken to isolate equipment prior to commencing work. Follows all safety instructions and notices, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Participates STOP safety programs and emergency response role as required by company.
