• Work closely with pattern shops to ensure the pattern equipment match the hydraulic drawings and to negotiate the best price for the best equipment.

• Work closely with the foundries to ensure casting quality and that procedures meet the company standard.

• Work closely with quality assurance to establish QA procedures.

• Provide support in evaluating pump performance problems and designs related to manufacturing inquiries and provide support to the production department.

• Provide technical assistance to vendors, customers and others as required.

• Create and maintain all engineering documentation to support the design effort.

• Responsible for Requisition all materials per API, ASTM standards.

• Provide assistance in the preparation of all calculations related to all pump designs.

• Provide assistance in thrust calculations to determine bearing life.

• Prepare equipments technical specifications to suit the standard and requirements and to suit the processing type.

• Responsible for Calculating horsepower and select suitable motor to drive the pump and improve the pumping condition by adjusting the impeller trim diameter.

• Retrofit and design centrifugal pumps to latest API standard design and convert the pump sealed with packing to be sealed with mechanical seal.

• Design replacement pump baseplate to suit existing foundation and prepare drawings to API standard, if possible.

• Involved with accounting department to prepare yearly budget required for equipments replacements and the required spare parts, prepare yearly report for the department according to the reliability reports for yearly maintenance needs of spare parts and replacement equipment.

• Survey and analyze daily reliability reports to improve plant equipment performance. Implement preventative maintenance schedule.

• Involved with the health and safety department to set up maintenance procedures.

• Responsible for preparing work accident reports and documenting accident causes and provide recommendations to avoid future accidents.


Rotating Equipment Maintenance Engineer 1975-1985 2005


• Install centrifugal and reciprocating pumps and compressors, ventilators, fans and blowers and piping systems.

• Responsible for plant maintenance improvement by following preventative maintenance procedures and steps.
