I have been studying your website and have seen a number of vacancies which interest me.

I am currently employed as an Instrument Electrical Engineer for BP at the Saltend site in Hull managing the K1 Ammonia plant, a position I have held for the past two years.

My present job involves;-
• Managing personnel and budgets
• Planning and organising maintenance work
• Engineering projects and plant improvements

Prior to my current position, I was a fully qualified Electrician working on the various Acetyl plants at the BP site in Hull.

My training and experiences have enabled me to communicate at all levels and I am comfortable and enjoy working as part of a team, or equally on my own.

I am available for an interview any time and can start work after 3 months notice.

Instrument/Electrical Engineer
In 2007 I completed my BEng Electronic Engineering degree and took up my current position as K1 I/E Engineer. This involves managing personnel, maintenance work and budgets, along with engineering projects and plant improvements. Recently prepared, planned and executed the 2 yearly shutdown when the plant comes off-line for vital inspection and overhaul of all major assets. Apr ‘07 – Present

Electrician
Day to day maintenance of operational plant interacting with the E&I Craft Team leader, Performance Engineers (Engineering & Operational). Typical problems relate to equipment failure, fault finding and the resolution of these within tight timescales and minimising costs. This may include organising spares, Group labour and third party involvement upfront. During this period frequently rotated around all Saltend Acetyls plants working on various equipment and having the opportunity to carry out various instrumentation tasks. The majority of the instrument work was removal, calibration, re-installation, PLC work and instrument trip testing.
