Cost Engineer
June 19, 2006 - Present

Cost Engineer working within the project team on Flowlines, with responsibility for managing all Cost Control activities on Flowline projects, covering 6 Offshore Assets with an annual value of approximately $30 m.

Responsible for managing all Cost issues from project conception through to Commercial Close Out. Provide control of reporting of all commitments, accurate forecasting and early recognition of potential overruns.

Duties include;
• Ensure estimates are prepared and submitted in line with project procedures. Obtain client authorisation of estimates in a timely manner.
• To continuously monitor current expenditure against budget and to forecast future costs in respect of all activities, for Engineering, Materials, Vendors and Offshore Construction phases of the project.
• To manage changes in cost arising out of changes in work scope. Identification and control of variations by implementing Change Control process. Advise Project Manager of change where appropriate, and ensure client approval of same.
• Preparation and submission of monthly cost reports and VOWD reports to project team and client on time.
• Lead and present monthly review with client of Cost Reports.
• Operate company specific Cost Control feeder systems
• Perform project commercial close outs including final project cost reconciliation and close out activities.
• Effectively communicate with project team members on a daily basis to perform all above actions - Project Management, Planning, Supply Chain, Engineering and Construction personnel.

• Assist Senior Cost Engineers with general cost engineering activities. These include: BP management costs, contractor engineering activities and costs, control of major construction contractor’s activity at Zykh yard
• Assist with maintenance of the CostMANAGER system including: assisting the team with data input as required; assisting with checking and verification of accuracy of data input
• Assist Senior Cost Engineer with performing monthly routines in CostMANAGER, including running and storing reports in the system or in Excel format and maintaining a paper file of cost reports
• Assist with monthly manual analysis of SAP actual cost data including calculation of expenditure at project fixed exchange rates and Currency Variances, ready for input into CostMANAGER
• Cost analysis work as required including keeping detailed cost control registers, records and files as necessary
• Tracking and analysis of invoiced costs as part of monthly VOWD and accruals process
• Run regular downloads from Maximo and SAP systems, check for new commitments not in CostMANAGER, advise responsible Cost Engineer and assist with input of commitments to CostMANAGER

• Check invoices in accordance with contracts’ terms & conditions
