As you will see from my CV, I have considerable onshore and offshore experience with semi-submersibles and deepwater drill ships. This has included roles with Transocean as an Onshore Rig Manager in Newfoundland (Canada), Offshore Installation Manager (Rig Supt) in both Newfoundland and the UK. Night Drilling Supervisor in the Indian Ocean, with Transocean, Woodside Energy Australia and Petronas Carigali Mauritania.

Having succeeded in my last three roles with Transocean, Woodside Energy and Petronas Carigali I am keen to broaden my career horizons. 2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

Night Drilling Supervisor for Petronas Carigali offshore Mauritania. March 2008 to Nov 2008.

• Managed deepwater drilling & completions operations onboard the semi submersible Atwood Hunter.
• Managed the operations in a safe and efficient manner by reviewing look ahead schedules and forward planning the upcoming operations.
• Co-ordinating the logistics with a limited deck load capacity to coincide with upcoming operations.
• Producing detailed instructions and guidelines to rig crews and service companies.
• Providing accurate casing tallies and cement calculations for upcoming operations.

Night Drilling Supervisor for Woodside Energy onboard the Semi Submersible Jack Bates in North West Australia. Sept 2007 to Jan 2008

• Fulfilled the position as Night Drilling Supervisor onboard the Jack Bates.
• Roles were co-ordinating the drilling activities and assisting in improving on efficiency, safety and rig downtime.
• Produced daily instructions for the rig crews and service companies.

Rig Manager, 4th Generation Harsh Environment Semi-Submersible Henry Goodrich, Transocean Canada Co., St Johns, Newfoundland, Canada, March 2006 – Aug 2007

• Recalled to Canada to serve as Rig Manager for the Henry Goodrich, with responsibility for troubleshooting, improving efficiency and reducing downtime that the rig had suffered from during the past year due to experienced staff leaving.
• Successfully improved the rigs safety performance, beating the company targets and performance over the past 7 years.
• Dramatically reduced out-of-service time and significantly improved client relations through strong management commitment and implementing major procedural changes, plus maintenance and safety improvements.
• Managed the administration and execution of the drilling program for the rig and beat performance targets for both budget and daily rig expenditure.
• Successfully maintained continuous operations for the client (Petro Canada) during a major planned upgrade for an important new contract in the US.

Night Drilling Supervisor onboard a DP Deepwater Drill Ship, Transocean INC India,
Indian Ocean, Aug 2004 – March 2006

• Managed and assisted the day drilling supervisor with drilling operations onboard a deep water DP drill ship, Discoverer Deep Seas
• Successfully achieved the client’s highly aggressive targets.
• Carefully planned all schedules / logistics to overcome supply issues.
• Facilitated client meetings, identifying all upcoming operations and material needs.
• Liaised with the offshore day Drilling Supervisor on well issues and upcoming operations.
• Produced daily instructions for rig crews and service personnel.
• Observed drilling operations and ensured safe and efficient performance.

Offshore Installation Manager (Rig Supt) onboard Henry Goodrich, 4th Generation Harsh Environment Semi-Submersible, Transocean (R&B Falcon Canada Co.),
St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada, November 1999 – August 2004

• Successfully managed the drilling and installation of the first subsea production template facility off Eastern Canada, overcoming numerous challenges, most notably all-year round drilling and completions operations in very harsh weather conditions.
• Managed the planning and efficient execution of the drilling program in consultation with the client representative (Petro Canada) and the rig’s department heads.
• Integrated and successfully trained new local crews who had very limited operational experience.
• Achieved an exceptional out-of-service record and safety record through good management and supervisory commitment and the introduction of sound quality procedures on the rig, plus a first-class preventative maintenance program.
• Implemented and communicated SIMOPS operations with Terra Nova FPSO.
• Managed the Drilling, Marine and Maintenance Departments.
• Built and developed good working relationships with the client representative and service company personnel.
• Planned operations with the Marine Department relating to rig moves, mooring, station keeping and stability.
• Reviewed and converted the Henry Goodrich’s procedures into a more efficient computerised system that was more user friendly.
• Held the position of Rig Manager onshore when the Rig Manager was on holiday.

Offshore Installation Manager (Rig Supt) onboard Henry Goodrich, 4th Generation Harsh Environment Semi-Submersible, Transocean, Shetlands, UK,
April 1998 – November 1999

• Successfully completed a subsea development for BP to the west of the Shetland Islands, which required all-year round drilling in harsh conditions.
• Responsibilities were similar to the position in Newfoundland (above).

Major Achievements:

• Successfully completed the first subsea development off Eastern Canada, the Terra Nova Subsea Completion field off Newfoundland, as both onshore Rig Manager and Offshore Installation Manager on the Henry Goodrich all-year semi-submersible rig.
• Transformed the Henry Goodrich into one of the top performing rigs of its class, achieving drilling / budget targets, with minimal out-of-service time, despite extremely harsh conditions (icebergs from March till July and operating down to -20°C in the winter) and upheld exceptional safety and maintenance records.
• Achieved very aggressive drilling targets as a Night Drilling Supervisor on the DP Deepwater Drill Ship and overcame major logistics challenges.
• Turned round severally deteriorating performance on the Henry Goodrich caused by personnel leaving; recalled as the new onshore Rig Manager and quickly resolved major problems with maintenance, on-board procedures and out-of-service time.
• Successfully trained and developed new crews with very little or no offshore experience into an efficient productive workforce that achieved all targets.
• Established and built good working relations with clients, managing well program issues and constantly identifying and implementing new ways to improve productivity.
