| 1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory] |
Thank you for creating the opportunity for me to becomes a member of your organisation. I was the Vietnam’s Country Manager for a Norwegian software company catering for the Oil and Gas industry since 2004. During that time, Isingle handedly built up the local company from scratch. Before entering and setting up the company in Vietnam I spent part of my time doingresearch on the market and opportunities in Vietnam to make the recommendation on how and when we should entered into Vietnam. During mytime with Roxar Vietnam I built up a reputation for Roxar and anUSD3million annual software sales business. In getting there I had to comeup with a marketing campaign to promote Roxar and its products, built up anetwork of client base and overcome our competitor who is well established in Vietnam for the last 15 years. I also had to build up, trained and mentor the local sale and marketing team and the technical team to help drive the business up. I was responsible for the Profit and Loss of thelocal company and managed the budget to make sure we gain market share year on year. To diversify and expand the local company, I also took the initiative anddid some research into software development and found that Vietnam had quite good incentives for Technology Company looking to invest in offshore development and as it happened Roxar was on a recruitment drive for software developers so I took my finding to the MD and was given the goahead to create a business plan for building an offshore developmentcentre (ODC). After further research into details such as resource and competency of the local talents, I made my recommendation and got approval for USD1million investment to build the ODC. I was personally involved inthe recruitment drive, setting up the training program, mentoring and leadthe technical team to get them up to speed with international standard.Roxar Vietnam office is now 2nd largest office in the AP region and have30 local staff working with western management setup to supporting salesand marketing to Asia Pacific Region and software development supporting to other software development offices in Norway, the UK and the US. I am currently working for an Oil and Gas company as a technical advisorto the business development team. Our goal is to look at reservoir assetsin the AP region and make recommendations to management as to where weshould make our investment next. I recently join Petrofac as I looking togain experience in a buyer market having spent most my career as a sellerprofessional. This opportunity would allow me to use my experience in a differentbackground and industry and be in the country where I was born having lived and studied in the West. Not only would I bring with me thetechnical, inter-personal skills and on the job management experience. Ialso have my cultural experience with both the east and the west which hasproved invaluable to my career developments. Please find attached my resume and profile provides more detail about myother past experience and accomplishments.
