Strategic Expertise- As the country product marketing manager for GE Transportation in India, I spent a lot of time on building a business case for our Oil & Gas product offering (Drilling motors for offshore/on land rigs). I initiated and completed a market assessment, completed an installed capacity assessment, designed a segmentation framework, initiated a communication rhythm with key stakeholders, mapped the complete value chain of Owners/Operators/Drill contractors/OEMs, formulated local service strategy and streamlined the parts distribution sales At GE & ABB, I have mapped competitor’s strengths and weaknesses and devised strategies to increase our market share.

Leadership through innovation -I have led the product/market strategy for a gamut of 5 sub-businesses within GE Transportation and have presented to and developed good working relationships with CXO level leaders inside and outside the organization. In the past, I have led and managed a group of 6 sales engineers in proposals and project management for Low voltage switchgear projects bidding out of US and Canada. As a Manager at GE, I have driven process improvement projects and led cross-functional teams. I follow an organized approach clearly communicating roles and expectation to the team while executing projects. I built the team from scratch and provided leadership to supervision of six analysts.

Interpersonal skills- In my current and previous roles, I have dealt effortlessly with people from different cultures/regions spread across the world. With my excellent influencing skills, I have been able to specify our products into potential project specification, thus ensuring a healthy pipeline for our business. On the regulatory front, I have engaged with the office of the PSA( Principle scientific advisor) to the government of India/Ministry of New and Renewable Energy in influencing our battery technology and in finding government grants for R&D in batteries.

I analyze problems in a logical and modular manner which brings me up to speed quickly on new assignments. Literally starting from scratch, I did market surveys, established the installed base of our product line in India, designed a formal segmentation questionnaire and a voice of customer, prepared a go-to-market strategy and clarified the value proposition of our offerings in the market. At ABB, within six months of joining, I developed a pricing mechanism that involved analysis of historic data and impacted the organization significantly.
