It weighs 260 tons, +- 26 meters long, 6 meters high and 7 meters broad, has a 2.4 Mwatt motor and IHC pump that pumps the gravel up to the vessel and from there it is sorted.
My job is to mine effectively with the crawler and to achieve maximum mining rate from the machine, constantly monitoring all parameters of the crawler its self and the positioning and also the weather limitations to ensure safe operations.
When the crawler is on deck for maintenance, I have to check the machine and fix it where necessary. I also have to do preventative maintenance to ensure the crawler mines its total about of time under water
