Nuclear Electronics Technician (ET2/E5)
Qualified: Reactor Operator, Calibration Technician and all subordinate positions

• Directly control a 550 MW nuclear reactor for production of steam used in propulsion, generation of electric power and coordinated operation of auxiliary equipment
• Extensive responsibilities, including, but not limited to: troubleshooting, repair, installation/removal, alignment, testing, wiring, and general preventative maintenance on assorted electronic systems and differential pressure detectors
• Calibration of vital electronics in support of mission critical operations

Maintenance Technician: Performed preventative and corrective maintenance on reactor instrumentation and control systems. Utilized test equipment, schematics, and technical manuals to diagnose system malfunctions to the component level. Supervised and trained technicians on proper maintenance principles and techniques.

Reactor Instrumentation and Maintenance Laboratory Technician: Scheduled and assigned routine maintenance for 120 pieces of electronic and mechanical test equipment. Researched, ordered, and distributed supplies for repairs and routine use. Maintained over 40 instrument drawers with a total value of $800,000

04/03 – 11/03 Nuclear Prototype Training, KAPL Kesselring Experimental Nuclear Reactor Site (Ballston Spa, NY)
Student; 3rd Class Petty Officer (E-4)
 Awarded the honor of “Most Qualified Student in the Qualification Section” and asked to instruct the incoming students (declined).
 Received 1400 hours of hands on training on the operation of nuclear power plants, such as operations at criticality, shutdown conditions of the reactor, troubleshooting reactor plant systems, electrical plant lineups, plant shifts, and overall plant components.
 Managed 20 people as Section Leader, with the task of maintaining the standards set by KAPL.
 Certified as a Nuclear Reactor Operator and received qualification as Chemical and Radiological Combatant.

03/02– 04/02 Nuclear Field Power School (Charleston, SC)
Student; 3rd Class Petty Officer (E-4)
 Received over 1000 hours of training on electrical theory, digital theory, microprocessor technology, troubleshooting of mainframe servers, monitoring detectors and their components.
 Received over 1100 hours of technical training on reactor operations, including radiological/chemical theory and control, chemistry, thermodynamics, quantum physics, calculus, material composition/dynamics, stressors, and fractures.
 Attended three months of basic training.
