Dodsal Oman (1.5 year)
Presently working as Operations Manager in Dodsal Engineering & Construction LLC Oman. Dodsal is an EPCC contractor for PDO (Petroleum Development Oman) at Qarn Alam Steam Project for Enhanced Oil Recovery. The scope of work is to increase the heavy oil (16o API gravity) production to 60,000 bpd, using the strategy of Thermally Assist Gas-Oil-Gravity Drainage by injecting steam into the reservoir at the rate of 18,000 tpd to reduce oil viscosity. Detailed engineering of this project is in progress by Mott MacDonald Co. LLC Oman, which is about 60% done for the following ON-plot facilities:
• Raw water treatment plant of 44,500 M3/d to make 22,500 M3/d, boiler feed water using RO membranes.
• Heat Recovery & Steam Generation (Boilers) for generating 18,000 tpd steam of 98-100% quality at 70 Barg.
• Oil & Gas facility, which handles the inlet production of to 60,000 bpd heavy crude & 1.5 million m3/day of raw gas, primary dehydration, de-oiling, produced water handling and gas compression.
Commissioning of the plant is scheduled in May 2010, until then my responsibility is to:
• Review & comment on P&IDs, PFDs & C&E diagram prepared by Mott MacDonald Co. LLC Oman.
• Review & comment on vendor’s operations related documents.
• Participate in following engineering reviews/studies for providing operational input:
o Plant Design Review
o Plot Plan Review
o HAZOP & HAZID
o Plant 3-D Model Review (at each completion stage i.e. 30%, 60% & 90%)
o Mapping studies for safety critical elements (H2S and F&G)
o Alarm Rationalization Review
o Noise Level Review
o IPF Review (Instrumented Protected Functions Review on SIL classification basis)
Being FSI “Q” Captain of Operability & Maintainability, preparation & execution of Quality Assurance Plan & listing of O&M probable flaws for FSI (Flawless Startup Initiative) & their mitigation action.
OMV (Pakistan) (7 years)
Worked for 7-years as Lead Production Engineer in OMV (Pakistan) (Austrian multinational E & P Company) at 420 MMscfd gas capacity DCS operated gas plant for removal of acid gases (H2S & CO2) & water from wellhead gas by means of amine and silica gel to make pipeline quality gas. After having taken active part in the Pre-commissioning, Commissioning, Start-up & Performance Test of Amine & Membrane Plants, operated the plant smoothly & efficiently.
OGDC Pakistan (18 years)
Before OMV, worked 18-years (Shift Engineer to Plant Manager) on Oil & Gas processing plants of OGDC (the biggest national E & P Company of Pakistan) & supervised the Pre-commissioning, Commissioning, Start-up, Performance Test & onwards routine operation of Membrane & Amine plants.
Key Responsible:
• Preparation of OPEX budget for routine operation and CAPEX budget for modification to improve quality & capacity of plants.
• Review and Comment on the Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning Procedures prepared by the EPCC Contractor & supervise the pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup and performance testing of the production facilities.
• During construction phase of the project, Interfaces with the Project Engineering Manager and Project Construction Manager for any operational issues.
• Manage operations in a safe and cost effective manner in accordance with the HSE & Economical policies of the company.
• Manage oil & gas production in such a way as to maximize production and meet the required Daily Contract Quantities of production.
• Coordinate with central technical and administrative support groups to effectively support field operations.
• Continuously monitor the ongoing operational process and report on the same. Suggest and discuss any changes, which may be required for the improvement of the program.
• Review and recommend the required 2-Year Operating Spare Parts for the facilities operation.
• Worked on the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) MAXIMO for Maintenance Management System, Inventory Management System & Procurement Management System.
• Cooperate with HSEQ Department for relevant matters & report incident of violation of NEQS (National Environmental Quality Standards of Pakistan)
