CV/Resume Details
1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

Dear Sir/Madame
I am writing to you in application for a position as an electrician. I have been working as an Electrician for over eight years working mainly on large heavy duty industrial installations but also within the commercial and domestic sectors of my trade. I gained qualification by completing a four year Apprenticeship with Mercury Engineering.
I am available to start work ASAP.

2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

During my time as an electrician I have become competent in my duties which include but are not restricted to, reading and interpreting schematics and electrical drawings, installing electrical equipment such as lighting fixtures/fittings, sockets/general services, data points, distribution boards and switchgear, and the fabrication of angles and jumps for metal trunking, ladder rack, steel conduit and cable tray and also in the installation of such items. I would also consider myself proficient in the glanding and termination, and the testing and fault finding of a wide variety of lighting, general service, earthing, fire alarm and ELV arrangements.

From: June 2008- Jan 2009
Employer: Randridge Group,
Unit 2,
Bray South Business Park,
Killarney Road,
Bray Co. Wicklow.

Location: Stord, Norway

Due to my experience in large scale industrial electrical installations I became Lead Hand whilst still working with my tools in charge of twelve electricians on the new build of two next generation Aker H6e Deep water semi submersible drilling rigs. My duties were but once again not restricted to prioritising, organising and explaining job packs, drawings, cable routing and positioning for electrical equipment along with reporting to my foreman and electrical engineers on a regular basis to avoid any problems that may arise and to ensure safety regulations were being followed.
Other duties carried out aside from my role as Lead Hand included fabricating and installing heavy duty cable racks/trays, pulling, glanding and terminating a wide range of off shore cable, the complete fit-out of the living quarters area and the fault finding and repair of problem circuits. This job required a three week on, one week off rotation, working for Aker Solutions, Stord, Norway.

From: Jan 2007- March 2008
Employer: Mercury Engineering Ltd,
Mercury House,
Sandyford Industrial Estate,
Dublin 18.

Locations: Beacon Court Apartment Complex, Dublin.
Hotel Europe, Co. Kerry

My role as a qualified electrician in the Beacon Court Complex was to completely first fix a minimum of three, two bedroom duplex apartments each week. The process involved installing conduit, positioning and mounting back boxes and chasing walls where necessary for sockets, lights and switches and running all the necessary alarm, speaker, fire alarm, power and data cables in accordance with the job schematics and to pass on my experience and explain to an apprentice how the different systems, electrical practices and types of circuits work. When all the apartments had been first fixed I proceeded to join in with another crew second fixing our original installations.
Duties carried out in Hotel Europe where different from Beacon Court as it was the refurbishment of a very old installation and so the job involved a lot more testing and fault finding in a bid to replace only circuits and equipment that where damaged or could not be fixed. There was also a new build section which involved general everyday electricians duties consistent with those from Beacon Court.

From: July 2006- Dec 2006
Employer: London & South Elec,
22-23 Foster Street,
Kent, ME,

Location: Gravesend, Kent.

As the only qualified electrician on site I worked from start to finish on the complete electrical installation for this new build medium sized sand blasting factory along with its neighboring offices. I gained fantastic experience here as I was involved in every electrical task whilst helping in the training of three junior apprentices. All electrical duties were carried out satisfactorily and the premises was handed over on time.

From: July 2005- July 2006
Employer: Austal Ships,
Western Australia.

Working for Austal Ships as a qualified electrician I was involved in building two fifty six meter patrol boats for the Australian Royal Navy. Electrical duties were carried out under a very tight time frame and were very similar to those carried out whilst working for the Randridge Group.

3. Education & Training - CV/Resume Part 3 [Mandatory]

I served my Apprenticeship as an Electrician with Mercury Engineering where along with block release to FAS training centres I learned all the appropriate skills for all aspects of my trade including how to wire and terminate lighting circuits, ring and radial socket circuits, fire alarm, ELV/data circuits, how to choose the right cable for a piece of equipment, work out voltage drops, read schematics, fault find/troubleshoot, fabricate bends for different types of containment, use tools and multi-meters safely, and to become an all-round efficient and competent qualified electrician.
During FAS I passed all my exams and assessments.

National Craft Certificate for completing an approved Apprenticeship and achieving the National Standards for the trade of Electrician with Merit. Awarded by FETAC.
Safety at Heights Certificate for completion of course including the use of harness fall protection equipment. Awarded by Aker.
